Aftermarket Replacement Pads Liner for Giro Phase Helmet

These pads have breathed new life into my old Giro Phase helmet. My original pads had aged to the point that they were crumbling and leaving black residue on my forehead. I thought I would need a new helmet until I came across these replacement pads, and it takes no more than 2 minutes to replace. I reused the original Velcro hooks that are glued to the helmet, so I did not need to use the new ones that come with the kit. The thicker foam on the pads allows the helmet to fit more snugly in my head for a more secure fit.

Proper pad replacements for this helmet can be a bit hard to find, but this one works very well.Velcro attachments make it easy to remove the remnants of the old pads and put in the new ones. There are half a dozen or so new stick on velcro anchors in case you want to mount these pads more firmly to the helmet.Be sure to put the softer slightly fuzzy side towards the velcro, and leave the smoother slightly shiny side facing out (I initially reversed that, thinking the softer side would be more comfortable facing out - but that is actually not the case).These are somewhat thicker than the original pads - especially when the original pads have been worn thin and are barely pads anymore, and you might need to make a slight adjustment to the helmet straps.After swapping the new pads for the old pads, the helmet is once again very comfortable and sits firmly in place without leaving bits of flaking foam on your face and in your hair like the old pads were starting to do.

I had not used my Giro Phase helmet in 6 months and when I put it on a couple months ago I thought it was really hard on my head! The original inside padding had pretty much disintegrated and I had nothing but strips of material left. Then I found this product and stuck it in the exact same places inside my helmet and now the helmet fits much better and is way more comfortable. I should have looked for these pads before. Fit is perfect and there are plenty of extra velcro sticky buttons to make sure the padding stays in place. Money well spent.

Just like a saddle, more padding is not necessarily better. So be forewarned, these pads are so thick they completely change the way the helmet fits. I'll reorder stock pads as soon as they become available through Jenson. I'm ugrading my rating from 1 to 3 stars. I still don't like the extra padding (3-4x thicker than original) however . . . they hold up significantly better than stock Giro pads. Well done on the longevity.

This product is cut perfectly to fit the helmet. I was surprised to find the pads in my helmet disintegrated since the last time I wore my helmet. Pieces were just crumbling in my hand as I tried to reset them. Thankfully I was able to find these and they make my helmet so comfortable to wear. TIme will tell if these hold up longer than the ones that came with the helmet.
