I just used this to build a 10-inch server rack, and it played nicely with all available accessories. Good straight extrusions, easy to cut on a table saw, and as others have pointed out, just use a pair of scissors gliding along the length to cut the plastic packaging... only takes a few seconds. My only mild complaint might be that the finish is delicate... Scratches easily when sliding across a surface. But in practice I don't notice. My machine looks closely related to the 3D printer sitting next to it, and adding things (including piano hinged fixtures and other gizmos) is straightforward. Useful enough that I bought more than I needed to have 2020 available for random projects. My new favorite tinker toys!

I was weary of some of the extruded aluminum from past purchases but this product exceeded my expectations. Each aluminum extrusion was fully wrapped (I took my knife and flipped it facing up & cut along the groove to slice through the wrap) and very straight. Each length was perfectly cut to length even though I was planning to trim most of the pieces. The anodized surface is excellent. It's not painted like I've seen with others. The black finish seems to be smoother than my silver finish I have. I'm rebuilding my laser diode as the new module is to heavy for the 2020 extrusion to handle so this 2040 was the next upgrade. I cut using my 14" metal saw but I know these can be cut with a miter saw but do clamp this down if you do use a miter saw. Very straight, quality, and will be buying more in the future!

The aluminum arrived well packaged and without any blemishes. All of the rods were straight and true. I will definitely buy again for upcoming projects and can say I would surely recommend these aluminum rods.

Got 40 4ft pieces via 3 separate orders at different times for projects. I consider this to be enough to judge company quality. I work as a Quality Manager at a large precision manufacturing company and order different types of extrusion at least twice a month for various reasons. Keeping this in mind, the following is my thoughts on this 2020 extrusion. FIRST THOUGHTS: Great finish(black), diameter, slot size and depth is within .002" which happens to be the margin of error for the calipers I was using. This is exceedingly good, but expected due to how extrusion is manufactured. LENGTH ACCURACY: Simply stated, it's seems to have been purposely cut long enough to accommodate kerf loss on one or two cuts. Can't say if it's different for the other length options. On average, they measured an 1/8"(.125) long or so. I appreciated this immensely. CUTTING: Use an 80-100 tooth thin kerf blade that specifically states aluminum(miter saw, table saw,ect). Very accurate, clean cuts on the miter saw setup I used. CONDITION: Each piece was individually wrapped and visually straight(good for my purposes). Beautifully packaged, seriously. I order mitsumi extrusion at work that at times comes in scratched up and slightly bent at 4-6x the price and lead time. Perfect finish. Great packaging. TIP FOR REMOVING PLASTIC WRAP: DO NOT TRY TO PEEL IT OFF! It will just shred and turn a 15 second job into a 5-10 min job per piece. Using a knife with a dull tip and sharp edge, flip the knife upside down and place the blade edge facing up inside the extrusion slot, run it quickly down the inside of the extrusion slot at a low angle using your fingers to control depth. This makes short work of the plastic wrap by slicing it off cleanly instead of ripping off small chunks. 40 pc in 5 Mins. I was not solicited in any way for this review. Seriously 10/10.

This is exactly what you think it is however I have noticed a few of the screws get loose and back themselves out. I suggest using a little lock tight if you don’t plan on taking it apart

Some pieces were slightly longer than 48", but none shorter. Finish was clean and protected, components all fit well. We used it to construct a bed platform in a converted camper van, plenty sturdy with 36" spans
