Once again The Army Painter makes a great easy to use product. I now understand why the spray cans can be a little more expensive, worth it in my opinion. At first the spray looks cloudy when applied but it drys beautifully. Gives the miniature just enough shine. I love this product and really recommend it to my friends who are hobbyist painters

Army Painter has a bad track record with reliability. They've had to reformulate both of their flagship lines in the last couple years. I've also heard bad reviews on their white spray primer, but this Alien Purple works great. Great coverage, and no issues taking regular acrylic, or speed paints after allowing enough time to dry and cure completely. I usually wait overnight. It also color matches with the Army Painter Alien Purple, but I can't recommend that line.

Great product. I’ve been using the Citadel paint-on varnishes (Technical Stormshield and ‘Ard Coat) and while I love them, for whatever reason on my Realm-lords it made them too shiny. So I bought this coat hoping to reduce the shine.It was only after I purchased it did I read the reviews about the “snow” so I was understandably worried that my paint job would be ruined. When my spray arrived I followed the directions, shook the can, but also sprayed indoors in my garage (with the door open because this product does smell. After only applying very thin coats and from a distance, the difference is night and day. The first picture is my Realm-lords after the spray, and the second picture is them before the spray. The shine is gone, but they still retain their looks.I highly recommend this product, but I also recommend checking to see if your can is one of the defunct “snow” ones before accidentally ruining a miniature.

Left guy is pre spray and right guy is post spray. This stuff is amazing! Has really good coverage and a nice matte finish without filling out the metals too much. If your having issues with oil wash being really glossy try this

Easy to use when finishing off the mini figs.

Ive been using the same Anti Shine spray can for about 5 years. From time to time I got those white specks showing up. This often resulted in totally destroying my paint job, and resulted in hours of correction. So I understand the issue.But using some helpful hints, I recently found online, I was able to avoid this problem.1. Shake well before every user (no brainer)2. Do a brief spray to clear the nozzle before every use.3. Spray indoors. This was a game changer. I think a small breeze is the main culprit with causing the white specks. Its a strong smell, so have an open window.4. Do a quick pass-by instead of saturating the model.5. IF you do have a white specks, use a Q-Tip dipped in cooking oil to remove those specks. Should keep your paint job safe.

It's what I was looking for. A nice cost efficient matte varnish. Definitely didn't leave any shine and provided a great matte finish. Army Painter stuff sometimes gets a bad review but I've used their products for years and I love them.

The varnish itself would get 5 stars, but. . .The ratio of product to propellant is way lopsided. I was only able to cover a half dozen minis with one can before it was just blowing off pressure.The caps on these cans are poorly fit and prone to snapping off or popping out.The price considering those big negatives is really too expensive.
