Great quality- safe for kids
I bought this kayak for 1 adult and 2 kids - it feels safe and great quality. It desinflates on it owns. I had tons of fun this summer . I would recommend and probably buy the 1 person kayak once the kids grow up.

Never thought an inflatable kayak would work
The media could not be loaded. Live in a small space and wanted my own kayak but didn’t have the space. Stored it on my patio, but didn’t realize that the backpack is not waterproof. A bit of mold got on the kayak and bag. 1st attempt to use kayak, I blew it up in my place, but couldn’t get it in the elevator or down the steps. Gave up on kayaking that day.The 2nd attempt was to take it deflated and blow it up at site. Even though the pump is good, I purchased a small hand held electric pump. I used the pump, SO topped off with the manual pump. Almost forgot to pump the bottom compartment. It took about 20 mins from unpacking to putting it in the water. No issues getting in or out. Very sturdy and a lot of room. I kayak in very calm waters so don’t know how it would perform in rapids. Easy to have one person paddle. Deflate was super quick and easy. After use, we put the kayak on the balcony to hose it off and let dry in all the creases. Didn’t want to put it in the bag wet because of fear of mold. Noticed a small scratch on the bottom from a very low section in the water, but no damage. The seats took a full 24 hours to dry. I wouldn’t wash the seats in the future unless needed. Now when my guests visit, we don’t have to pay $40 per hr to rent a kayak, can go when and where I want to go, and can easily transport in my hatchback or in the back seat of my compact car.Update: I had a chance to go out 2 more times since the last post. One in the bay with more active current. It poured for about 5 mins. I was able to hop out and hop back in to swim with no issues. I deflated it when I was finish when it was still wet. I highly recommend NOT doing this because it smelled horrible when I went to use it 6 days later. The 2nd time, I let it dry inflated. I put it on top of my very small SUV and let it dry on my car inflated. Then I deflated in put it away and it was much better. 2.5 person kayak is a little too long to transport on top of my car for a long distance, but I was only driving a couple of miles. Husband doesn’t like the seat. He is 5”11 and says he needs a higher back. For me, 5”5, it is perfect. Overall, performance is fantastic. I really want the Rover 120 so I can take out solo or have our daughter come out, but need a good sale to justify another purchase.

Love it so much buying a second one!
After Using this one for the first time, came home and ordered a second one. So easy to set up...strong, durable glides through the water like a breeze!

Nice but not for big people
After finally figuring out how to read the dual-action pump gauge, I've deleted my previous review to write this updated one.Being someone who lives in an apartment and has a small vehicle, I've always wanted a kayak but couldn't buy a traditional one because of these lifestyle limitations, so an inflatable was my only option. This Driftsun was on multiple lists of top inflatables, and its pricetag was best for my budget. The pump: this small pump comes with two attachments. Use the straight one of the two to connect to the Boston valves. Other reviews say that you can use the pump to deflate the kayak, but I wasn't able to do that with either of the two hose attachments that came with the pump. So, instead, I just unscrew the base cap from each valve, and the air escapes pretty easily. Then I just fold the kayak and squeeze the remaining air out. I think to deflate it, the pump will require a different attachment. Advanced Elements, who makes the pump, sells this same pump (slightly taller) separately, and that one comes with about five different attachments. The gauge for the pump works differently than a traditional air pump/gauge. THE GAUGE WILL ONLY REGISTER THE PSI ON THE DOWN-STROKE when you are pumping, not on the up-stroke, so you need to watch that carefully so you don't over-inflate the kayak. Driftsun should have included this information. The only way I figured it out was by finding an article on the website of the pump manufacturer. I tried reaching the kayak manufacturer for assistance on this matter but had no luck reaching them by phone or email. Disappointing customer service. The kayak inflates quickly. It seems well-made and rode the water well, including handling wind. However, if you are someone with wide hips, I would not recommend this kayak. I am a relatively small woman (5'5", 130 lbs), but even then, the side bladders are tight up against my hips. Also, the carry handles on the inside need to be farther forward because those also make the sitting area smaller. I would also like to see the attached pin for the tracking fin made of metal, not plastic. Plastic doesn't lend to longevity, and the fin is important. I like the spacious seat, though the straps leading forward also contribute to the squished seating space.I would also like to see a bit more length on the included paddle. It's not bad, but it would be better with added length. The bag that you use to store and transport the kayak seems heavy-duty, spacious, and well-made. However, because I am a small person, I cannot carry it on my back, as advertised. Even my sister, who is a bigger, stronger person found it too awkward and unwieldy to carry as a backpack. I remedied the issue by using a collapsible wagon to transport it. That works great, though it does add one more thing to add to your vehicle.Issues aside, I think I'm really going to enjoy my new kayak!

This is a great kayak but it's too narrow for a large adult male
This is a really nice kayak but if your hips aren't less than 32", its too small. I also question the design choice of having the internal handles on the sides digging into your hips, right where the seat attaches. Other than that, it's very well made, easy to inflate and deflate and comes with nice pump with pressure gauge and a spacious carrying bag. I really wanted to like this kayak but in the end I had to return it and get something larger.
