Generally, this collar works very well. However, I am giving it only two stars because of two big user interface problems with the controller.- The strength values roll-over when pressing the up or down buttons. By roll-over, I mean that if you have the shock set at 100 and you press up, the shock value will roll to 1. If you have the shock value set to 1 and you press down, the setting will go to 100. This is a huge problem because you can be pressing the down button to go to lower shock values and suddenly you could be at the highest shock without realizing it.- There is no off switch for the remote. So, when you have the remote in hand, you can accidentally shock your dog because you bump the button. You have to be very conscious of how you hold the remote whenever the collar is on your dog and turned on.Also, when the collar arrived, one of the electrodes could not be installed. It was not threaded correctly and could not be screwed onto the collar.

I was thinking about finding another owner for my bloodhound before we got this collar. She went to 1:1 training and was still such a jerk. I have young children and she would knock them off their feet constantly. This worked like a charm. For about a month I only ever used the beep and vibrate. Then she stopped responding. Shocked her maybe twice on a very low setting. She got the message. One thing to note is depending on the behavior you are trying to correct you may want to start with your dog on a leash. The first couple of times I used the vibrate button on my dog she bolted like a bat out of hell through the dog door and refused to come back in.

This collar works great the only thing I'm having issues with is the power button. It's really hard to push it when it's already pushed in but that's how they made them.The prongs that have to be screwed on be sure you screw them really tight or else they will come off. They will come off the more the dog moves.Update : 5/21/17 this shock collar stopped working out of nowhere. I cannot get ahold of seller. I do not recommend this shock collar don't waste your time.

This worked for a few weeks but now loses the channel setting very quickly. If I call the dog then press the button on the collar then press a button on the remote, it will work again for a very short time. This is exactly how another cheap chinese made training collar I bought acted. While the two products look slightly different the buttons, programming, and operation are exactly the same which tells me they were both made at the same chinese factory and are the same on the inside. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY LIKE I DID. A person shouldn't have to buy a whole new product just to get a few more weeks of use out of it.

Everything seems fine, however I tried the receiver on my hand on level 3 of 100 and I got a pretty good jolt.. I have only tried the vibration mode on my dog, she is small and is a biter. Not 100% sure if I want to use the shock mode, but if it can keep her from biting and running off I may consider it.

We received this collar on 5/21/17 and began using it the next day. The price was great and the product performed as advertised. User friendly features, simple controls, and ample signal range. However, on 6/22 we began having issues with the shock feature working intermittently. On 6/26 it would not shut down to charge at night. Then the receiver started giving the warning beep on its own without the button being pushed, every few minutes all day long . The instruction manual has no troubleshooting information or customer service number. Of course, the return period ended on 6/20. The product was advertised as waterproof, even for swimming. Our dog only splashed around in a kiddie pool, but we did notice once that the plug that seals the charging port had popped open. It is very difficult to seal properly and pops out easily. We started removing it before allowing the dog in the kiddie pool long before the problems started, so not sure if that played into the malfunction or not. Our experience has not been good. At the very least, do not buy this collar if you plan to let your dog get wet, it is not waterproof. Also, don't expect much in the way of customer service.

So far so good. My dog has gotten this collar wet and nothing has gone wrong. We have been unsuccessful training here on basic things, like not jumping, don't chase the chickens, do bit the kids, etc... but with this collar she has learned in just a day!! No idea how long the battery last. The remote goes from 0-100 on the vibrator and the shock. So you can find that sweet spot. My dog doesn't even notice the shock until level 30-35 then it seems like someone is just tapping her on the shoulder.I would recommend.

Poorly made. The prongs that emitt the actual shock screw into the battery pack. They kept working themselves loose and I found one of the prongs on our dog's bed one morning. When my husband attempted to screw it back on to the battery pack using pliers to better secure it, it completely snapped rendering this entire collar useless unless all you want to do is vibrate or beep. This was within 3 weeks of purchasing the collar. We got a new one that is made much better.
