Just what the Doc ordered.
Simple to install and worked just fine on the first boot up. Both my old Tosheba and I are happy campers. The processing speed increase made all the difference. Couldn't beat the price either.

Just what the doctor ordered - good value, nice upgrade for me.
My older desktop was beginning to operate at a snails pace. Bloatware, constant use, upgrades, etc. I figured I could give it a new boost from 8gb to 16gb of RAM and also replace the HDD with a SDD main drive. I essentially have a new computer for a little over $100. Be aware when looking for RAM cards both the style (DDR3) and speed (PC3-10600). I had overlooked the speed aspect and had purchased a set with a PC3-12800. Unfortunately, those were too fast and my motherboard couldn't see them (face palm). Once I figured out my mistake, Amazon was very good at the return and replacement for these, which work wonderfully. I use this desktop as my home theater pc (HTPC) running PLEX and also with a usb hauppauge dual tuner connected to a $40 RCA antennae I placed in my attic, and have completely cut the cord and have a wonderful free dvr for over the air (OTA) channels. I receive all the available channels in my area (51) at full strength and a few from about 70 miles away with moderate strength. The resolution is actually better than I had with my cable provider. Excuse that sidebar, but I wanted to show that I am using these constantly with the PLEX server and have had no issues at all. I am very happy with these and the new set up. Install is super easy. Just remove the old RAM cards and pop these in, close your cover and restart.... you're good to go!

Upgraded our Gateway SX2850 from 8GB to 12GB RAM
I used this 8GB upgrade (2 x 4GB pair) on my Gateway SX2850-UB10P. Like many users, my wife likes to keep many apps open all the time, such as multiple Excel, and Firefox with lots of tabs open, which on Windows 7 tends to eat up large amounts of memory. This PC came with 8GB, but she was really pushing up against that limit almost on a daily basis. Once usage gets above the 7GB level, everything runs much slower as the OS has to constantly swap large blocks of memory in and out to disk. So I decided to increase the RAM.The PC's original DRAM memory size was 8GB, installed as four 2GB DDR sticks in four slots. Memory has to be upgraded on this PC with matching pairs of DDR sticks. Removing one 4GB pair of DDRs and replacing them with this 8GB pair (and leaving the other original 4GB pair as is in the other two slots) resulted in a new total DRAM of 12GB (2 x 2GB + 2 x 4GB), a net increase of +4GB.Crucial.com and other sites note that this PC has an 8GB limit, but it actually seems limited only by what can physically be installed in those four slots. Both the PC motherboard and the Win7 OS had no trouble detecting the extra memory after rebooting. Note that you will need extra free space on your hard drive before the reboot, because the OS has to create a new larger paging file (pagefile.sys) to handle the larger total RAM. So it is wise to delete as much as you can from the disk (and perhaps run a disk defrag as well) before you upgrade the DRAM. So far I have not seen any ill effects of having the extra RAM above 8GB.With 12GB now, my wife's PC has 50% more RAM ceiling room when she runs all of her apps.

Made my late 2008 15" MacBook Pro like new
My MacBook Pro was starting to slow down which was somewhat expected for a 12 year old computer. I was thinking about scrapping it and buying a new MacBook Air. Started thinking about the other issues with the computer besides its speed (ie battery doesn't hold a charge, charger is positional, the tops of a couple kets missing and track pad doesn't work anymore). I started researching the cost for replacing/upgrading these items. Turns out it cost less than $100 solve most of these issues. In addition the the RAM upgrade ($37), I also bought a 85W charger ($22) and a replacement battery ($33). All bought through Amazon. I can live with a couple keys missing (but still functional) and I use a bluetooth mouse instead of the track pad.In regards to the RAM, I was amazed on how fast the computer was running after I installed the new modules. Swapping out the RAM modules took less than 5 minutes. I Installed the two 4 GB RAM modules which doubled the original amount of RAM. Now applications start up lightning fast. So happy I tried this first instead of paying $1000 (minimum) to buy a new MacBook. It really is like having a new computer. If you're questioning whether or not to upgrade your RAM, I would highly recommend it. Minimal cost, easy to install, and makes a huge difference to the computer's performance.Charger seems quality, time will tell if it holds up but has solved the issue of the charging port being positional.Replacement battery arrives later this week.
