Summer heat this can help!
This is a great product for your home attic. It pulls the hot air out using solar power. So no electric cost, and it helps keep the A/C from running in this summer heat. My son installed it on the roof, and built a nice holder for the attic window. I would say the directions to install are lacking, but there are youtubes to help you figure it out. It runs pretty quietly and it does make a big difference in the temp of the attic space.

Works Great!
The product works great. The panel is very adequate to power the fan that really spins when the sun is out. It does still spin and move air on cloudy days but just not as fast. I'm hoping to be able to hook up a charge controller with a battery so the fan will still run for a couple of hours after the sun goes down.

Almost 5 years now
Installed this in our attic when we first moved into our older home (1939), and ever time the sun is out, it runs for free! Had to change out the connectors about 1 year ago, but other than that, not one hassle. Would love to get the thermostat, so here’s hoping this part works….

This far exceeds the description. Absolutely amazing
Ok, seriously great quality. This is a amazing product, we ordered 2 and the fan spins like it was plugged into mains. This already cooled the attic and made a significant differance in the cost to cool the whole home. Very nice thank you.

After 2 years and 2 months + update
After 2 years and 2 months this fan quit working. I tested the solar panel and it is putting out a full 20VDC tested continuity of all the wiring and perfect. the fan motor however was trying to run but just couldn't. It is a sealed unit so no chance for repair. I will try to find a replacement motor.I paid $195. including shipping for this fan and 70 watt panel . Now it is $269. and if 2 years is typical then I would not purchase another. That being said during its life the system worked flawlessly. The fan blade is only 8" so I had my doubts about the CFM claims. Once it was running my doubts disappeared. It was strong, fast and loud. Motor is silent without the blade. Once Installed with the oversized shroud (14") most of the air was circulating around the shroud and not through the screen on the gable vent so I added a 9" start collar to the shroud with the fan centered of course that extended to within 1/4" of the screen. Viola, full air flow through the vent.Note to manufacturer: Larger fan or smaller shroud. Final note, I did not put a switch or thermostat on this system so it ran even in the cold months. A thermostat could have lengthened the life of the motor. If I find a motor and it lasts longer I will update this review. If your looking to purchase now, I am only 1 customer so read a variety of the reviews. There were no reviews when I purchased this.Update:I bought another fan and now up and running again. I noticed while shopping, a fan that looked a lot like an automotive radiator fan at a cost of around $70. So I looked up the radiator fans and found the same fan for around $25 and a variety of others ranging up to $45. I opted for the $34 - 16 inch fan and boy am I happy I did. This fan is quiet and moves more air than the original. The motor is exactly the same style, size and shape as the original and is rated at up to 120 AMPS, perfect for my 70 amp panel. If you have a 35 - 50 amp panel you should use a 14" fan.16" High Performance Black Electric Radiator Cooling Fan Assembly Kit 2000 CFM Pro-Cool Reversible Heavy Duty S-brade Engine Fan Mounting Set (Diameter 16.73" Depth 3.26")The plastic housing mounts up to a standard gable vent frame with ease, 4 screws no carpentry, no reason to fabricate a tunnel. The motor is reversible as is the fan blade and that is very important as the efficiency really drops if the blade is running backwards, again super easy. The blade has 1 lock nut that I removed with a crescent wrench flipped the blade and put the nut back on. Then you just swap the + and - wires when you install to your existing solar panel.I'm not changing the rating. I wish the seller would have replied to me then I would feel different. Not that I want a refund but an offer of a discount on a new motor would be good customer service.I want another fan for the other side of my attic. I'll order the panel and fan separately right here on Amazon and save a bundle of cash.

Moves the air! Keeps garage cool!
Easy to install. I mounted for a gable bent in garage and is alittle noisy but not annoying.
