The Apple Pencil is a very sturdy product, it doesn’t get scratched or broken very easily. I dropped it out of my 6th floor window once and there was not a single scratch on it. This case is more of just an extra. But I do love the feel of the soft silicone case.

Leaving this detailed review on the combination that worked for me, since I kept looking for similar info but couldn’t find it elsewhere. Hopefully this helps you -I have the auaua folio case for ipad5, have an Apple Pencil 2. Really needed a pencil sleeve since I tend to drop pens. Got this sleeve and was able to get the pencil on easily. The protective cap is a nice touch - I was able to continue to write with the cap on too.The auaua folio case is not rigid - like a flexible plastic material so has some give. Still, fitting the sleeved pencil (no cap on) into the folio case was a little less easy - really have to shove / push it in so it charges, but it does fit and it does charge. However if you really want your folio to close flushed to the edge, then this combo may not be for you since there’s a gap. But the cover’s sleep/wake up function still works. Also want to note that I have to leave the cap off in order for it to fit - but I don’t care as much since I use those small nib caps (I have the transparent ones) - I have the nib cap on in the picture and it does fit.

The pencil cover is easy to put on (rather difficult to get off) and both pieces provide good protection for your iPad pencil—2nd generation. As for me, I discovered that I don’t like the feel or the extra thickness of the silicone sleeve but I’ll keep this for the protective cap that protects the only part of the pencil—the tip—that I was concerned about protecting anyway.

I am pretty satisfied with my Apple Pencil cover. The tip cover is a nice addition for when I am not using my Apple Pencil, simply to protect the tip while the pencil is in my purse or amongst other miscellaneous things in my purse not damaging the tip. The Apple Pencil case do not slip off at all, I don’t often use the tip, but it’s nice to have it as an option when out and about to keep the tip of the pencil safe. I write normal with the case on, easy to grip the pencil. No issues, yet. Lol.
