Nice mechanical keyboard for the money
I have a number of mechanical keyboards that are mostly used for business purposes. My primary motivator for buying this keyboard was to try out the GamaKay Phoenix switches, but I also like the look and size of the keyboard. The price is also really good, in my opinion. Right now this keyboard is the one I reach for the most. I really like the quiet thump of the switches and they feel nice to use, but to be clear - they aren't actually silent. I've had a few annoyances with this keyboard occasionally not "waking up". The lights will respond, but typing doesn't show up. It's an easy fix. I just switch the input type over to BT and then back to USB since I've been using it wired. It immediately starts responding again. This isn't a consistent issue, but is a small thing that I wish didn't happen.

premium keyboard with bright LEDs
Just a quick update: I knocked over half a cup of water onto my keyboard and it's still working just fine. I pulled out all the switches and hung the keyboard upside down for a day and a half to let it dry. I was pleasantly surprised that there were no issues with any of the keys or LEDs once I put everything back together.I’ve been using this keyboard for about 2 weeks now and I really enjoy typing on it. It works really well right out of the box without the need to download any software. However, I wanted to rebind some keys, so the gamakay software was necessary. The LEDs are bright and the light schemes that you can toggle through are dazzling. I had a full sized corsair keyboard with cherry red switches before replacing it with this one. The smaller size freed up a lot more space and makes my desk look less cluttered. Although the body is full plastic, it's quite solid with no flex. It doesn't feel cheap and has quite some heft to it.The keyboard uses in-house switches that I wasn’t familiar with, so I had to look up a video of how each of the switches sound before I settled with the phoenix switches. The phoenix switches are very smooth and quiet but also very responsive. It doesn’t make a loud *thock* sound when typing like some of the other switches which can be annoying if you’re playing games or typing while talking to people on discord or streaming because the mic picks up all the typing sounds. The box also included one of each switch with the keyboard (phoenix, crystal, and bumblebee.) I actually replaced my “W” key switch with the bumblebee one so that I can tell if my finger is in the right place when playing games. Removing and replacing the keycaps and switches are easy to do and the keyboard seems very customize-able. The only thing I wish this keyboard had was somewhere where I could attach the usb receiver if I’m not using it like some of the other mechanical keyboards I’ve looked at.

Solid but Cheated!
The keyboard itself is solid for a budget board. It would be best to mod this board but its not bad out of the box. The Breakdown:-The stabilizers on mine rattle a lot which I expected but there is a gap all the way around the stabilizer housing that is unsalvageable.-Crystal switches are ok but they need to be lubed.-Pudding keycaps are moderately thick but extremely "pingy?" they have a weird high pitched kinda of resonance when the key is bottoms out.-RGB is solid bluetooth and 2.4GHz reciever works well. I havent tried programming any keys as I havent built out the board yet.-Battery; I expected decent quality as this is just a budget mod board for me to take to work. The problem is the battery. It states it has a 2400 mAH battery which doesnt match the photos or reviews I have seen. the battery has its own section in the bottom housing and what I received is just taped to the bottom with tape all around it. so you cant verify the battery size?Summary: its a solid board to start modding but if you plan to use it stock I would look elsewhere. The price has went up substantially on these board and I can safely recommend Akko's offerings any day of the week over this. Especially if you want to use it stock. The board works and I can work with what I have as its more of a backup. If I bought this as my only board though, I would be sorely dissapointed.

It depends.....
So....are you wanting to get into the hobby of building and modding your own keyboard? If that is the case then do some more research and look into some switches and keycaps that fit your style because this is limiting. What's that you say? You don't care about that and just want a solid keyboard that functions and looks and feels nice? Well this one is probably for you. Out of the box this keeb is solid for the price. Might I add. pop off the skirt and take the pcb out (super easy, like seriously.....the easiest). Cut of some foam of your choice and line the bottom of the tray. This actually made a significant improvement in sound on this keeb.Keep calm and type on friends.

(silver switch option) This is the best keyboard I have used in 35 years of using a computer.
I have the silver switch model. I chose this one because it has great click but not too much noise and the typing response is super fast. I do some gaming, programming, and I type a lot. Quality, sound, feel, color, materials...this is the best keyboard I have ever used.Just the right key travel, the perfect amount of keys, has a functional arrow pad, and a volume knob that doubles as a play/pause button. Lights are neat without being too much. Huge variation on the light pattern...this is the best keyboard ever. I kind of want to buy another one so I have new one in a box in case anything happens to this one. I'm afraid I won't be able to get one again if I want one years from now!
