Review: A very uneven collection, and that's being generous. Gore and gratuitous cruelty abound. Many readers wouldn't be edified by the frequent tableaux of violence, underpinned with so little in the way of ideas or meaningful context. There are some good stories, but not enough for a 450+ page anthology. I can handle nihilism. I read E.M. Cioran for laughs. But the majority of evil depicted here is merely banal. Apparently the intent of these exercises isn't catharsis, but to wallow in blood for it's own sake. Even from the perspective of modest expectations, this is low grade stuff. Misery loves company. You've been warned. Review: Absolutely brilliant book every story had me wanting more. Matt shaw got some amazing writers to agree to writing this book. I hope that there is another antgology soon. Don't know what the he'll the person who gave this one star was reading but it couldn't have been this book.

Absolutely brilliant book every story had me wanting more. Matt shaw got some amazing writers to agree to writing this book. I hope that there is another antgology soon. Don't know what the he'll the person who gave this one star was reading but it couldn't have been this book.
