Apple Barrel Acrylic Paint in Assorted Colors (2 oz), 20741, Cloudless

We bought a ton of apple barrel paints to try our hand at paint night on demand. It was a huge success! Some of the bottles needed to be shaken up before using, because they had slightly separated, but once we shook them they were perfect. The colors are opaque and go on smoothly. They give great coverage. One of our paint nights, we used a pumpkin pattern and graphite paper to put the basic picture on the canvas before painting. The Apple barrel paint covered up the graphite lines quite well. Some of the lighter colors did take a little more to completely cover the pencil marks, but for the most part it was opaque enough that it only took one coat.I love these paints! They are perfect for beginners and work well for crafts, canvas, and rocks. I used them for rock painting with my 3yr old granddaughter and she absolutely loved them! We started doing all the baby shark family on rocks, but it was time to go for her mama's birthday party, so we will have to finish them next time. The thing I liked, was that the paint did dry quickly enough that we were able to get to the next color without waiting forever for the first layer to dry, but it did not dry out so quickly that it was not pliable enough to do our paint night pictures.Another thing I like is that they are not only non-toxic but they are easy to clean. My grandbaby got them all over her hands and I even got a drop on my shirt. I immediately took the shirt to the sink and rinsed it out with cold water and all the paint came out right away. The paint on our hands had time to dry before we wash them, but it came off easily with just soap and water.

Apple Barrel Paint is one of the rare gems in life that is both effective AND affordable in the same wonderful product! How often do I wish I could say: "I'll just go with the less expensive brand" and then it's utter disaster! Apple Barrel isn't like that at all and I hope they never change! It's a nice solid medium thick craft level paint with great coverage and a beautiful selection of colors! One tiny bottle goes a long way and for the colors you don't use as much it's perfect to keep the whole array on hand without taking up a lot of space or blowing your budget! They have expanded the line multi surface paints and even outdoor paint! I love Apple Barrel! I'm not sponsored by them (although I would GLADLY accept!) and I buy all of my craft supplies with my own money. I just love standing behind a good product that comes at a fair price and they have more than earned it!

I bought this one with 15 other colors same brand. Love this brand for the colors and price!! ~~~Now on to some secrets~~~ With all my projects I use liquid gesso first no matter what. Trust me get some cheap gesso it will save you some time and a few headaches. It's just an acrylic primer I got a 16 oz bottle on Amazon for around 10$. I've had it for months and only used maybe a quarter so far. Some are clear some have a white base. I suggest the white base saves you some more time.I also see some people leave reviews saying the paint was coming up. I get the problem sometimes it's because I get impatient. Sometimes I don't let the first coat dry completely or it's already drying and I go over it again. I really don't know how to just leave it alone and walk away lolIf you want matte paint you can mix in some plaster of Paris. Also DecoArt makes something called chalk finish medium to mix on with your paint. ❤I really hope this helps someone❤

This is the best deep royal purple. I painted a slug I made of white clay; the pic of him right way up is 2 coats of paint, his underside is one coat. The swatch in the product images doesn't do this color justice, it's way richer & deeper.

I was trying to match the color on my walls and it was almost perfect. I used to paint my tv cords hanging down to make less noticeable. Cheap and easy fix

At first it covers all of it but when done it is a pretty blue.

Easy to use. I purchased as a sample color to see if I liked it. I do and will buy again in a larger size.

I bought this to do some art work on a canvas, the quality of the paint is good and i was able to get the desired effect. The paint is thick so it brushed onto the canvas nicely, i also mixed it with other colours which also turned out very nice.A little went a long way and what i loved is that it dried really quickly.

It arrived with lid lose and little spilled. When i tried to use it was surprisingly thin, more like a stain to me. Ive had 2 other apple barrell paints and theyve not been so thin. The colour due to thinness of paint wasnt very good. More just a little bright than anything. Disappointed in this one.
