Awesome, depending on your need
The item looks great. But close inspection shows it's not as great at second glance. The metal at the top is thin and pliable. The interior is not as treated as it should be the leather carrying items are very well done but I'm not convinced they are real leather, the feel of them is a little off. But it is a great show piece or costume accessory. I'd buy it as a gift again for sure

You Have To Own One!
I love this horn! You can put anything in it! Makes you feel like a Viking. Mine didn't look the same as in the picture but they did warn that each one will be different, which is awesome because it makes yours unique. Nice stand, but be careful, it'll scratch the horn. When cleaning use warm water and mild soap. Clean with a long bottle brush with a sponge tip. Clean immediately after use. Skål!

Great quality, but a little on the small side and needs to be treated.
Nice drinking horn for the money. Was pleased with the included strap, belt frog, and stand. Be aware that, while clean, the horn is untreated. This means you will experience an unpleasant smell unless you treat it with boiling water, then vinegar. When dry, you should seal it with beeswax to seal and protect the horn from cracking.

Very nice horn mug... BIG
Great product. Ring is riveted to the horn so it will not come off like others that are just held on w/ the food grade epoxy. The stand is really nice and will hold the horn even when full. The belt strap is a nice novelty item and it came with a shoulder strap as well. Will work well with my Viking costume for next year. It is a bit bigger than I expected even after looking at the (Photoshop'ed) pictures and the spec. Says 18oz, and it will hold that and a bit more. Great product and well worth the price for everything your get.

Total fraud, total waste.
This was sold as an 18-ounce horn. I filled it to the rim with water and emptied into a two-cup Pyrex measuring cup and it almost filled it to the 10-ounce (TEN, not a typo) line. 12-ounce horns from the same company sell for considerably less than this one. I foolishly hoped that the comments left by others about being grossly under capacity were flukes, but apparently not. It also has very little black on it, just a couple of streaks, and looks a lot more like the "smooth" edition that was priced at $14 less than this one than it does the "natural" model that this one is supposed to be.The sort-of-brass protective ring around the top is thin, very poorly fitted (oversized enough to stick a nickel under it), and is attached with brad nails which are VERY poorly ground off on the inner side; out of eight brads, 5 are sticking up high enough and sharply enough to cut, which I discovered after I did cut my lip trying to see if I could drink from it.Which leads to another problem: in trying to inspect the sharp brads, I found a HUGE crack running from the rim about three inches long, and is deep but does not quite go all the way to the outside layer.Contrary to the ad copy, the inside is not adequately lacquered and stinks like dirty socks because the gelatin and collagen composing this horn is DEcomposing. It smells like rot because it's rotting, and I'm not going to bother trying to drink from it to see if it affects flavor, especially not after already cutting my lip on it.The stand looks sturdy enough to hold it, but the feet on the stand are not sanded smooth before finishing and the irregularities are sharp and scratched the surface of my desk visibly in putting the horn into it and removing it once to check the fit.The leather, which is only identifiable as leather because of all the cracks on the back side, looks cheap and gaudy, in part because it was stitched with white thread instead of matching thread. The "shoulder strap" is appallingly flimsy, a quarter inch wide and maybe a millimetre or two thick at most, and the lacings on the pieces that lace are have broken through from the back to the finished skin, and it hasn't even been used yet. And to add insult to injury, some of the rivets were rusty. It was surface rust that rubbed off on my finger, but it still discolored the ridiculous-looking white thread used to secure the edges. So flimsy rivets that rust readily on something designed to hold a DRINKING VESSEL. Yeah.I wanted to love this item. I spent two weeks waiting for it to arrive because it's a "non-essential" item and I can't find a single thing about it to even like, let alone love. It was fulfilled by Amazon, so I don't know if the capacity mistake was the manufacturer's or some Amazon picker that saw "horn" and threw a horn in the box without regard for capacity, but these other myriad quality problems rest squarely on the manufacturer, and I would strongly suggest that everyone avoid this product.

Beautiful drinking horn
I bought this as a gift for my boyfriend for his birthday and we were both very impressed. It’s definitely a real horn and didn’t have any weird smell as others have said. The filigree is beautiful. The iron stand is very cool and so are the two leather attachments. I looked at a lot of different drinking horns before buying and I am very happy with my choice.

Awesome product.
I love this. Honestly I think it hold more then what it says. Love the craft of the horn. The stand could use some work on it. Doesn't really sit well in it but holds perfectly in the frog and shoulder holsters. A definite buy.

Odin bless this horn
Christmas gift for my husband -- he loves it! He's a fan of Vikings and wasn't expecting this at all. Since the horns are all real and thus different shapes, he does sit slightly crooked in the holder, but it doesn't bother us at all. Great quality horn -- the metal ring around the mouth is well made and sturdy, the leather is well made and fits nicely, the display holder is simple yet elegant. Huzzah!
