My 4 year old loves all Sammy Spider
I think we started with Sammy Spider at 2 years old and he’s still into them and asking for new ones. Love that they have all the holidays and are age appropriate and explanatory. These books also are great for more religious homes too, which is hard to find.

It was wonderful book for small children!!!
I’m a teacher who values traditions of all families. This book allows children to listen and participate in learning about Hanukkah.

December Holiday Favorite
The month of December is the month in which Hannukah is celebrated with the lighting of the menorah commemorating the finding of one day's supply of oil to light the temple menorah when eight days or oil is needed. By a miracle. the tiny jar of oil lasts eight days until a new supply of oil can be obtained. It is the story of the Macabbees who defeated their enemies and cleaned the the temple. In modern days, gifts are exchanged during Hannukah.

The author is quite an educator.
Our granddaughter loves each of Sammy's books. We highly recommend all of Sylvia Rouss' books to you for your own library or that of your young relatives.

Excellent Book!!
This is an excellent book about Hanukkah. It has some great information about the holiday such as dreidels, candles and the 8 nights. The story has a very cute ending. I'm a teacher and read this book every year to my students. It is a great buy and a must have addition to any child's library.

Great teaching tool for preschool and kindergarten children.
I teach Chanukah to my children's class every year and part of the lesson is reading stories that I donate to the classroom. This was a great story about a spider learning about the holiday. Also part of a series to teach about different holidays. . Kids seemed to really like it

Perfect RE text
EYFS teacher - lovely little story to share over the week when learning about Hanukkah. We did a couple of pages a day and made latkes when the family in the story had them, played dreidel and talked about colours and number.

A simple introduction to Hanukkah practises in the home
This is a charming book describing the practises of a Jewish family over the Hanukkah period as witnessed by a little spider and his mother. Lovely pictures, not too many words and enough repetition to encourage your small person to join in the story.

good for counting and colour
This was a nice book and the children enjoyed it, I would have liked a bit more about how you celebrate Hannukah or what a dreidl is, exactly, but it is good for pre schoolers learning about colour and number.
