It works great but absolutely purchase a bottle of thinner with it.
It evaporates in the bottle. I used it two or three times applying literally small DOTs of Tempilaq on brass for annealing for a total of approximately 15 dots. The bottle is now half full, not because i've used that much but because it quickly reduces itself when you open the bottle. Buy the thinner and refresh your bottle here and there... also keep the mouth of the bottle very clean. Otherwise you'll have to break through a cap of dried tempilaq that has gathered on the cap and the bottle mouth. That said, yes, it is useful for annealing as a temperature indicator.

Check the product as when it arrives!!
Junk! It's my fault for not checking it upon arrival. I just put in the reloading room and waited 3 weeks for my annealer to arrive. When I opened the bottle it was a chunky, congealed mess. The bottle threads and brush stem were thick with dried paint. Old? Used? Improperly sealed? Who knows, but no amount of shaking would reconstitute this hot mess. I even slowly added some thinner in a weak attempt at doing a quick set up, but to no avail. I know a lot of people like this stuff, I wish I could give a better review.

Will keep you from adding to much heat

750 Tempilaq
The annealing kits for brass cartridge annealing contain the 425F Tempilaq. In order to properly anneal the brass, you need to make absolutely certain the necks are being heated to 750F for a second or two. The 750 degree Tempilaq is the only way you will know for certain that you have the correct annealing time figured out before annealing the rest of your brass.I highly recommend getting this stuff if you are considering annealing your brass.

Exactly as described.
I haven't conducted any tests to verify the melting point, but have used as directed and it seems to perform as described. Would, and likely will, buy again.

Must have product.
When annealing brass its important to know when the proper temperature has been reached so that the brass isn't destroyed by guessing.

Perfect for annealing brass
Used on test cases to get the brass annealer set up before running good cases. Worked perfectly and took the guess work out of it.

Works great for Annealing brass, this last bottle was chunky though.
I use this as an indicator for Annealing brass. I have used it for a while and it works great for that purpose. This last one I received was extra chunky though. Even after shaking until my arms hurt it was a weird consistency with chunks in it. It still works for the stated application and doesn't seem to have much effect, hence the high rating.
