BESSEY BV-HD60 Heavy Duty Bench Vise, 6 In.

I purchased this vise to drill 1/2" holes 2" deep into brass and copper. The vise did exactly what it should. It gripped tightly and kept the material where I wanted it. I only have two criticisms on this product:1. The screws that hold the jaws in place were loose. I figured this out the hard way lol. You might want to snug those screws up a bit before use2. I feel like the vise should include some hardware to mount the vise to your press table. This isn't really a criticism... more of an afterthought.I haven't been disappointed by a Bessey product yet!

I was pleasantly surprised by this vise. It's much more solid and heavy than I expected. The adjusting screw was dry (from the manufacturing process) and sqeaked irritatingly at first. I put a couple drops of oil on the threads, and it's been totally quiet. The crank handle gives you good, solid leverage to tighten the jaws very tight. If you are working with wood, the jaws can cause depressions in the material, so use some kind of cushion or blocks of wood or shims to avoid marring the surface of your material. There are long holes along the bottom of both sides, so you can put mounting bolts through into your work bench. I just used a couple of c-clamps, because the bench is also my wife's sewing and craft workspace. The top edges of the jaws had a rough burr; I scraped my fingers a couple of times, but a little (very little) work with a file took care of that. It's a good piece of equipment; I'm glad I bought it.

I purchased this vice used because it’s just for medium duty home use and was pleasantly surprised at the great quality/condition. The only negative comment I could make would be regarding the packaging, which looked mostly destroyed upon delivery.

Worked great with my strong hands drill press clamps. Makes it possible to work on odd shapes that cannot lay flat. I had to contour this stainless bar stock and then drill it to make sure the holes were centered on the parts this gets screwed to.worked like a charm.

As noted by others, the base is Warped about .015 thousands of an inch. It will rock slightly on a flat surface. My guess is it was ground to quickly, got hot and warped from the Heat. What can you say, made in China but the price was right so if it bothers me too much I'll just shim up a corner. Other than that it seems to be fine.

well, what can anyone say ?? it is a 4in drill press vise, it is a good weight and has openings to bolt it down (does not come with any bolts) it feels of good quality and works for the backyard guy that i am

I bought mine used. Saved a lot of coin. It’s the perfect size for smaller pieces to be held on a drill press. I’m very happy with my purchase.
