Very sturdy!
This is a great phone holder. Suction power is very good and easy to install and sturdy. User friendly. I recommend this item.

Ball socket wears out
I have been using this phone holder for 2 years. It was easy to mount in my car, and I love that it fits my phone perfectly. I also appreciate being able to position the phone exactly where I need it, so I won't have to take my eyes off the road if I need to check Google Maps. That said, I have a couple of issues with it.On extremely hot days, the suction cup comes off the windshield. I live in Ohio, so "hot" here is mid-to-upper 90s. It remounts easily, but it's still a pain to get in the car and see the holder on the floor AGAIN. This is just a minor inconvenience. If you live in a really hot climate, it could be a real pain for you.The second issue is the ball-and-socket joint now has loosened to the point that the holder drops forward as I hit bumps in the road. It won't stay upright if my phone is in it any more. This issue isn't as minor because I see no way through it except to replace the holder. I suppose 2 years isn't bad for the price, but I really had hoped to get more use out of it.

Sturdy yet doesn't leave a residue on the windshield. Quick & easy to install & remove.
I use this to attach my iPhone 7 to the windshield of an 18 wheeler. It is very quick to install and works GREAT. Even with the violent vibrations in an 18 wheeler, it stays put! I was very concerned about the claim of how sticky it was, since I put it on and take it off every day, but that has actually been a blessing. Yes, it is sticky, but it doesn't leave any residue on the windshield. It comes with a thin piece of plastic covering the sticky part and each time I take it off of the windshield I put that plastic piece back on it to keep it clean and to keep it from sticking to something I don't want it sticking to. I quickly lost the original piece of plastic that came with it, but I simply cut a piece of plastic out of a zip lock bag and it works as great as the original piece of plastic. Before buying anything from Amazon check these two sites: fakespot.com and reviewmeta.com. Some people were wondering if the hole in the bottom of the holder was big enough for the charging cord. Another reviewer said they had redesigned the mount with a bigger hole. Apparently, they have because mine has plenty of room for the charging cord of this phone or any phone. I also use this in my compact car and it is perfect for that vehicle as well. It looks bigger in the picture than it really is but still works great! It is so easy to install and remove. I highly recommend it to anyone.

Good window mount phone holder.
The mount to the windshield is solid. I was able to position it so that it was just outside of my line of sight when I was driving. It held the phone quite well. The suction cup comes with a gooey surface that holds very well.I haven't tried to remove it yet so I don't know how well that will work. It does twist between horizontal and vertical.

Glue wasnt strong enough
I bought two of these. They seemed somewhat steardy & strong they worked fine in the winter in December, but when summer rolled around the glue completely melted & slid down the window leaving a big "glue patch" on the window. I had to razor scrape it off & even use "Goo Be Gone" to remove. What a mess!

Great Mount!
I received this Friday and wanted to test it out to use in my car and on a boat. On the boat, I need suction mounts to hold not only my phone, but also a handheld GPS, as I travel quite a bit and never know what electronics the boat I'm given will have. I bring my own electronics, but need mounts that are removable to keep them from getting destroyed. This weekend, I had a long distance sailboat race to assist in the management of. This was the perfect opportunity to see just how well the mount would hold both (separately of course). I'm not talking about the equivalent of driving down a road that needs repaving, I did a real test. 65 miles each way of pounding wind chop (up to 6' in height) while driving the boat 20-25 knots (23 - 28+ mph). It is literally bone jarring. It has to be done though to provide an immediate safety resource when accidents happen.Long story short, neither the phone or the GPS fell out of the mount, nor did the mount itself come off. In your car, you will never experience the intense pounding this mount received from me on the boat this weekend. It never failed. I'll be ordering more.

Holds Thin Phones
I bought this to replace one that broke after a number of years of use. I did research and this was well-rated. The previous one had an extendable arm and I wasn't sure what I'd think of one with a fixed arm but it has worked well, the ball joint let me position it how I wanted it and then the ring locked it in place so it never moves. The adjustable arms squeeze together to hold the phone securely. The tray at the bottom also helps to hold it in place and the hole is really big, allowing the charge cord to pass through easily. The only thing that disappoints me is that I have to remove my phone from the wallet case in order to use this mount as the phone in the case ends up being too deep and falls out of the gripper arms. I don't think this will be a problem for anyone with a more standard rubber bumper style case or plastic shell.

Does the trick
Update: This summer was pretty hot and the 30 degree temperatures melted the glue so now I have a mess to clean up and the holder is garbage. It held on a couple years but I’m glad it’s on my windshield and not my dash. Now I’ve bought one by MPOW and I’m hoping it is better quality. So far, it's serving the purpose. I stuck it to my windshield because I read it damaged some people's dash. I tried to reposition it slightly, but the glue is so strong I can't get it off, so it will stay where it is. If it decides to unstick itself in the cold, I plan to use my own adhesive to make it stay put. The release mechanism seems a bit flimsy, so I do doubt how long it will last and it takes a couple clicks to release my phone. I'm not sure if that's how it's supposed to function, but it does the trick. It's cheap, so I don't care as much if it only lasts a few years.

Good adhesion, but POOR quality construction
I bought this product twice now. The first time, 2018, I was thrilled. Quality was good, it had good adhesion, and a firm grip on phone. The second time, late 2019, I was disappointed, and it only got worse with time. It still sticks to the windshield well, but that's about it. The quality has dropped significantly: the arms that hold the phone are so stiff that it takes too long to open when you press the button; the clip that you push to fasten the suction cup to the window is only 1mm short of coming undone; and the plastic quality is terrible. When I went to push the arms together to lock my phone in, the gears skipped, so now one arm was permanently sticking out too far. I managed to unscrew the back and fix everything, but then it happened AGAIN! And this time, one of the teeth broke on the arms, so even if I put it back in place, the arm will be misaligned by 1 tooth every time I move it. After 5 days (10 opening/closing cycles) it's now half an inch misaligned.Really really disappointed, especially given how happy I was the first time I bought it. Will not be buying again.Update June 2020: So many teeth have broken off now that arms can be either completely open or completely closed - there are no teeth left on the gears for anything in between.

Working great, so far...
Product arrived well packed with good instructions. At first, it kept falling off my window as I was driving, but I was installing it incorrectly. Clean your window, slightly wet the suction cup, press firmly to window and then lock it into place (the small locking tab on the base). The problem now is, I can't actually get it off my window - lol - as I want to slightly move it so I can see the clock display on my car better. This thing sticks, and cold / heat changes are not affecting it (Southern Ontario winter), as other reviewers have written. Holds my phone perfectly, and operates as expected.

suction cup melted in 87F (29C) weather
The media could not be loaded. I had it for approximately a year. It was a bit stiff during cold winter days but still usable and better than a dollar store one I had before. Under direct sun light in the summer it was getting a bit wobbly as heat was softening the suction cup but I didn't care too much. Until two days ago when I left my car on the street on a 87F (29C) sunny day and the suction cup melted. It slipped 5cm down the windshield while leaving melted rubber on it. The consistency of the suction cup changed permanently, now it's jam-like. I believe that the company made a mistake and used a wrong material for the suction cup. I still have the suction cup (the whole "leg" actually) from my old 4 CAD holder from Dollarama which thankfully ended up compatible, but I do not recommend this product.

Solid and good grip
There are three pieces to put together. It’s a simple ball joint with a nut in the middle to tighten if needed. The directions were tiny in the booklet but I figured it out. Strong durable plastic, joint is strong and holds the weight of the phone. The grips are strong also and can take a phone with a cover on it. I have an iPhone 7 with a thick case and it’s fine. I don’t even need to push the button to take it in and out of the grips, I just push it in place. I put it on my window, RAV4.
