The Feria
I bought and read this book because the author is a good friend. She told me she had written a book. The story is very interesting. I live in a border area. It's amazing how relationships foster and grow when people from different cultures, backgrounds, and ethnicities meet. A very good read.

Beautiful love story with depth
I had this book in my Kindle library for months. Once I made my way to it, I couldn't put it down. The Feria is a beautifully written love story with likable and engaging characters. With each page, Soledad and Xavier came to life and made their way into my thoughts and heart. The historical and cultural aspects contributed to the depth and value of this gripping tale.I highly recommend this book and look forward to more from Julia Bade.

The Feria- Very Cultural!
This book instantly took me back to my grandmother's kitchen and the emotions I felt when I was with her! I love the cultural references and phrases such as "Abuelita was bustling around and preparing some tea with Yerba Buena"(p.775). This book gives an insight to the Mexican Culture and made me proud of my Mexican heritage!

A Touching Love Story!
A Touching Love Story, THE FERIA is an engaging story of two countries, where we find Soledad, a smart, educated Mexican-American. When she and her family face money struggles due to the war, she is torn between American and Mexican cultures. Soledad must learn to balance both without losing herself and her family due to the great challenges she must face. This author is so talented. I enjoyed this story. Highly recommended to lovers of romance and classic fiction.

Love will find a way
Wow. That’s the only word ringing in my head after finishing The Feria. I love the connection, the love, the trust that Soledad and Xavier had. They had that “once in a lifetime” love, the kind of love every girl dreams of. Their other half.I actually read this in several sittings. Because I knew they would be ripped apart, it’s said in the description. I didn’t want to see that. I loved them together, and them apart would have been wrong. But I couldn’t stand not knowing. So I took the plunge and finished the book.I enjoyed every minute. I love that the story was set in a different era, and a different culture. It’s one of my favorite things about this story.Another thing I loved was the continued growth between Soledad and Xavier. They didn’t let the past stop their future. It’s never too late to be with the one you love, the one who makes you happy, your “other half.”
