57 Buttermilk Acres: Mixing Vintage & New for a Cozy, Inviting Home

This book has some creative ideas for displaying collectibles and junk pieces. Glad to see someone else totally changing furniture as well as displayed items based on the seasons. I even enjoyed the narrative.

Absolutely love this new book! Charming in every way. Diminutive in size (tho not too small), it's a treasure trove of lovely photos and practical, creative tips. The author's voice is upbeat and passionate but down-to-earth--very real, not "designer-speak." She makes you see how you, too, can easily create such beautiful vignettes in your own home with your own collected treasures. I will enjoy this book forever and have already gotten several new ideas. The palette is mostly neutral with touches of green and occasional pops of color. Lovely mix of vintage and new. Lovely gift for the "warm-n-cozy" home owner who "has it all" in decorating books. Love. Love. Love.

The book is very well done in both layout as well as content. The author is very adept at display. Primarily all about shades of white, brown and green, which I personally like. Occasionally a pop of color - i.e. pink flowers, etc. at Easter/springtime, some blue for summer, some orange in the fall/Halloween, some red ornaments and a Santa at Christmas. The only negative for me would be the price for a book so small and also paperback.

Lots of great ideas and brings a little warmth to the heart this time of year

The book was delivered earlier than expected. Having other Buttermilk Basin books and patterns, I was looking forward to getting this book. I love country, and from the pictures on the front of the book, I would see a lot of that in the book. Being familiar with Buttermilk Basin, I expected to see the country decorating ideas mixed with the quilts and wool designs of Buttermilk Basin patterns. There are definitely a lot of antique and country furnishing ideas. However, the pictures are so small that I want to get a magnifying glass to really look at them. I expected a regular 8 1/2" x 11" book. Maybe I didn't look close enough to see the size of the book, so was disappointed that the pictures are so small. There are lots of pictures and lots of ideas but you need young eyes to fully appreciate this book.

I’m a bit disappointed in this book. The author takes the same location and decorates it by season. So it’s pages and pages of the same spots in her house. The color schemes are so similar I have trouble determining what season she is showcasing. There are some good ideas but they are basics: use odd numbers, balance the weight of the area. If you’ve never bought a design book, go for it. If you are experienced in any way at all, give this one a miss

I love this book! Being a fan of Stacy and her shop Buttermilk Basin I couldn’t wait to own this book. After seeing how well her shop is merchandised I knew she had to have a fabulous fashion sense when it comes to decorating. This book is written well with beautiful photos and amazing ideas to help style your own space. I love how she creates vignettes around some of her favorite pieces and collections. She does a great job of showing how she changes the spaces for the change of seasons. This book makes me want to redecorate all of my home with a fresh look using many of her ideas. Can’t wait to go antique shopping for a few more special pieces.

I have so many antiques but I wasn’t sure how to incorporate them in my house and still have a fresh look. The photographs were amazing but the descriptions and content tied everything together. The examples are timeless. I have so many ideas.

Fun little book. Loved how it was broken down, and gives fun ideas for your home decorating with antiques and thrift finds.
