Great for Value
Perfection, for the money, sound quality is amazing, no stand needed light weight hang upside down from my combo amp. Looks amazing. I don’t know about durability yet, used it at 3-4 shows.

If you mic guitar amps, you need this.
This thing is just a DREAM for micing guitar amps, especially "problematic" cabs. My main amp (Peavey Delta Blues) uses a 15" speaker. Trying to mic it with an SM-57 or similar is always a compromise of what kind of coloration I'm willing to accept. Hours of recording time and fiddling with placement did eventually allow me to discover a sweet spot. But even then, trying to place such a tiny capsule on a speaker larger than 10" never gets me close to the natural sound of the amp. Something is always hyped or missing. It's always a hunt for the least bad placement. If you're reading this, you're probably familiar with what I'm describing. The e609 is the opposite of that situation. You can just about throw it in the general direction of an amp and get a decent sound. Slap it right up against the grill, halfway between the edge of the dust cap and edge of the speaker cone and you're set. Use a stand or hang it over the cab. The thing is just remarkably un-picky. It's very easy to use to get a relatively transparent representation of what the amp actually sounds like with minimal fuss.A couple things to note:It's light. I dig it, especially since it spends a lot of time dangling from a mic cable. More weight would probably be bad.It is a little on the bright side, but nothing unreasonable or difficult to manage. The housing around the grill is plastic. Seems sturdy enough, but maybe don't use it as a hammer. The included mic clip is SUPER TIGHT. I suspect this is among the reasons you always find 609s hanging from a cable, even if an extra stand is available.

It’s a Dream!
This mic is a dream for micing my 30w Peavey Classic. I’ve spent years cultivating a guitar tone that I love and was so pleased to find that this mic captures it exactly as it sounds out of my amp. So easy to use, great isolation too.

Excellent tool for micing your amp.
This item is great for mic’ing my small amplifier through the sound system. I’m not sure why anyone would need them more expensive version for this purpose. Anyway, I’m very pleased with it.

Perfect
Works great, very light weight and easy to just hang over speaker cab. I use on some high gain settings and it sounds great. Sound guy loves it.

Pretty good, similar to SM57
Using a Fender Blues Jr amp, I compared the tonal response between the e609 and a Shure SM57. The e609 has slightly higher mid range response and a better humbucking quality to it, but the SM57 captures a large range of frequencies, particularly for cleaner guitar sounds, i.e., makes the sound a little fuller.. The ease with which to use the e609 with an amp (just hang it over the top; I use velcro to keep it in place) is a plus, however. The biggest con I found is that I am not getting very much signal through it when recording through a presonus DAW, requiring me to crank the amp to volumes that are pretty loud. The SM57 wins in that aspect, but not by much.Decent mic, but probably not the answer in the quest for the greatest tone ever.

Amazing
Adds a great low end and captures a wide range in frequency, im pairing this with a Shure SM57 on the middle of one speaker and the e609 on the outer edge of the other speaker. Sounds amazing!

Great Value and Records the True Tone of your Amp
For 80 bucks this mic was a steal. I love my Traynor amp and this Mic really captures the tone pretty much exactly as it sounds out of the speaker. It's really easy to set up and requires no stand so works exactly as advertised, though the chord does twist up a little so I find it works best with some masking tape applied to hold it in place. I've even tried it as a vocal mic and it's doable, but I wouldn't necessarily recommend it for that. I compared against an SM57 and I think this one sounded slightly better and is easier to use as well.
