DecoMates Non-Ticking Silent Wall Clock, Green Tea Disc

I bought this clock 5 months ago and I was happy with until now, when form no apparent reason it stopped working. I contacted the seller and explained the situation and asked them to replace the clock once I believe it was defective, the response I got was that they could offer a 15% discount in my next purchase, then I replied saying that no way I would buy another clock taking the risk of the same problem happen again. The clock was nice, but for the price I was expecting more, how a $35 clock should last only 5 months? I possess another clock, same brand, different model, that it still working, so I know the broken one was not affected by any condition in my house as the other one is working perfectly. DIsappointed.

This clock has a lot going for it and since I was able to get it at an Amazon “used” deal for $8, I will be keeping it. First, when it says silent, it truly means silent. No hums, no whirs, nothing. It looks super sleek. I also like the style and size of it. It was exactly what I needed for the space. The color, however, was a bit of a disappointment. The photo makes the clock out to be a deep rich purple which is the reason I chose it. In truth, however, it actually looks more blue than purple. It still goes with my decor, though, so it’s fine. I also did not have any issues with the face being warped or out of alignment like other people did. Would I pay the full retail asking price for this clock? No. But if it goes on sale or you can get a deal like I did, I think it’s a nice little clock. If I have problems with it dying in the future, I will be sure to update my review. But as for now, I am happy with it.3 Year Update: clock is still going strong. Looks and functions exactly as it did from day 1.

I purchased this clock on January 2014 and it stopped ticking March 2017. This is my second Decomates silent clock; the first one (different style) is still working. I do think that this style clock was a bit on the low quality scale.This clock is indeed silent, I slept while it was hanging on a wall of a not big room. The silent clock actually ticks but the movement of the seconds hand continuously sweeps around rather than discretely stops at each second. I would discribe the movement as a microtick. I read the time from this clock daily and pretty much took it for granted. The only time I really paid attention to the clock was when it did not keep time: when the battery needed replacement which was not often.I now realize that I don't really love the style of the numbers: orthogonal to the center rather than parallel to the ground. I don't feel that I got bottom dollar from this clock. I'd like to give this clock 3 1/2 stars but I can't justify giving less than 4 since I relied on this clock and it served well (there are no half stars either). There are better silent clocks out there and you should look around. Style, quality, size, price that sort of this

Clock is used to record elapsed time in scientific experiments. The smooth second hand is vital to picking off events fractions of a second apart by looking at the video frame by frame. That's the good part. The bad part is that the face is NOT bright purple. It's a dull matt finish that is more blue than purple. In fact, my wife who is a fine artist, noted what a nice navy blue clock I'd purchased.For me, it doesn't matter, as I made up a new face for the clock with tenths of a second marked off and the second hand carefully sharpened to a point. But if you want a purple clock, this ain't the one!The clock is the ubiquitous single AA battery plastic ChiCom unit that notes that it is "designed in Korea". No idea what the long term accuracy is because that doesn't matter for my use. I intentionally bought a non-radio controlled (AKA "atomic clock") because I didn't want it resetting itself in the middle of an experiment.For use as a conventional clock, I'd highly recommend one of the radio-controlled clocks in the same price range. I have them all over my house and lab and the daylight savings changeover is a non-event. They all set themselves automatically.

This is sub-standard. when received, I figured how it's constructed. A base clock body with no face is used. When ordered, face is attached and glued into place. When I opened this, I found the face was not securely attached. Flipped the clock over, and found that 1 of the 4 screws was missing entirely. another was attached, but screwed into a broken piece of the base...useless. A dry-mount adhesive was applied to hold the face on, and its coverage was incomplete. Yes, I could have bought 3M spray adhesive, epoxy-ed a mount onto the base for the additional screw to bite into, then found another micro-screw to replace the missing one. Decided to pass; called Amazon, arranged free UPS pick-up of this mess. Looking on Amazon for a more decent item. Though the movement, accuracy, and battery conservation might be alright, I can't tell, and at this point, don't care.

I was very Impressed when I received this item. It's an absolutely beautiful wall clock, looks even better in person and placed on my wall. Happily surprised by the high quality. I needed it for my kitchen wall that measures 6 ft." wide and this is the perfect fit, very hard to find such a nice colourful clock with the dimensions I needed. I have it off of my kitchen area where I also have my dining room table (floor plants, stereo etc.). With the white bright detail frame and soft colored numbers ( I picked the pink (neon) numbers theme), this clock fits right in with the rest of my décor. I must tell you the clock is extremely quiet, in fact I don't think it even makes a noise at all. I don't hear ticking, which is especially nice if it is going into a room where even a slight noise would be a bother. I sometimes fall asleep on my couch and I can't even hear a tick out this clock. I am thinking of ordering another one, maybe the florescent green theme this time. I would definitely recommend this clock to anyone that wants a wall clock that is priced affordably and has great quality. Thank you, Jamie

This is well made product, the finish feels well. I wasn't sure how the Clock will look like in real, the photos can be deceiving, but it turned out good. Anyway most important it was quite and you can reasonably read the time from a distance.

leider kam die Uhr kaputt bei uns an. Die weite Reise übers Meer hat sie wohl nicht verkraftet. Die 4 Halterungen der Scheibe waren leider abgebrochen :-( Haben sie selber geklebt, weil wir uns das ganze Retour-Gekutsche sparen wollten. Nun hängt sie also in unserer Küche und funktioniert einwandfrei. OHNE TICKEN! PERFEKT!

Positiv:- Sieht sehr gut aus- Grunsätzlich gut verarbeitet, kein Plastikkram vorne- Kein Ticken hörbar (hängt direkt neben meinem Bett). Der Sekundenzeiger macht auch keine Tickbewegung, sondern "schleicht" um die UhrNegativ:- Das Ziffernblatt ist nur am äußeren Rand dürftig am Innengehäuse festgeklebt. Bei mir hatte es sich schon von Anfang an gelöst. Ein einfaches Festdrücken hilft nur ein paar Minuten. In diesem Zustand wölbt sich das Ziffernblatt so weit nach vorne, dass die Uhrzeiger daran entlangkratzen oder ganz stehen bleiben. Ich habe etwas doppelseitiges Klebeband dahintergefummelt. Jetzt hält es schon ein paar Monate - ich hoffe auch weiterhin. Richtig plan liegt das Ziffernblatt leider immer noch nicht. Scheint wohl kein Einzelfall zu sein...
