Solarcon 224B Black 4' Top Loaded Dual CB Antenna with Mirror Mounts and Cable

i bought these along with 2firestick hd-Heavy Duty antenna springs. a midland 5001z cb radio. and a 5 in pa horn all for 120.00 dollars. nothing has arrived at my house yet but when i look at my orders everything else says it is being shipped but these say shipping soon and i dont think they will ship at the same time everything else does. i have high hopes on these antennas. and on my stock hight 93 gmc 2500 these are going to be atleast a foot and a half ubove the roof being mounted on the bed rails right behind my tool box. they are tall enough that they will touch the ceiling in my garage which has 8foot walls.i cant wait to mount these on my truck they will make it look soo cool.im giving it 4 stars becaus the antennas might ship late. def worth the 34.00 wanted herei will probably post a vid or pictures of the finished product looks like. a tip on cb radios- channel 9 is emergency channel channel 19 is trucker channel everything else is pretty much a free for all. ur squelch- is to cancel out very small signals and some interference noise. Xtra Talk- turns up or down sending out signal/loudness. RF Gain controlls your receving signal-perhaps someone is too close and is blaring your spkr turn this down. now th switches CB/ANL now if you dont like anal you dont have to take it. jkjk. ANL means automatic noise limiter this tunes out interference noice within the cb world now pa means public adress basically a speaker outside the vehicle and any one can hear you with within earshot.NB is for cancelling engine noises along with some interference. brt and dim is for brightening and dimming the display for day and nightime use. and lastly instant channel 9 automatically puts you to channel 9 at the flip of a switch and when you flip it back it goes to the previous channel you were on. please comment if this helped or ask questions and read THANKS.

Great Kit for anyone who wants a serious cb radio setup on their truck. Mounted the brackets on the sides of my toolbox on my truck and then ran the cable into my cab to my cb. They work flawless and have had them on in all weather conditions you can think of, never had a problem yet and its been 2 years. Only thing you MUST buy extra is the cb antenna springs which are like 22 dollars and they allow for your whips to bend at high speed or if you hit something they will bend and not just snap and break off. This kit is the best for the money, just buy the springs from Rogdpro and you will never have an issue. Would buy this again if I had to.

great antennas work well up untell someone at work starts swinging them and it brock but other then that I loved them this is the only brand of cb antenna iv used so fare the cabel to run them to my cb could be longer the veical I put them on was a 2000 chevy s-10 now im gunna put them on a 96 chevy silvarado I might have to find a place to put my cb I don't no if the cabel will reach to the dash board

So this review is coming from a self proclaimed radio nerd...Is it a Firestick? No its a Solarcon! and there is nothing wrong with Solarcon. They have been around for years too!!Might you add springs to them? Sure. But, If you need ultimate flexibility install a steel whip guys... It's a stiff fiberglass stick it's common sense you cant drag it through obstacles.As for the mounts don't over tighten the plastic washers. You may have to check them every once in awhile but you'll save yourself pain.I am extremely pleased with this product for the price point. I couldn't put together a kit this cheap with my own parts. (I tried...)

For the price of this set, I couldn't find a base, mount, and cable for my Firestick. The antennae seem to be fine, and the cable and mounts are good. Haven't decided yet if I'm going to just run them or if I'm going to buy another Firestick and swap them out.They work though, and are a great starter set, or a good way to get antennae on your rig without breaking the bank (or emptying it after buying the radio in the first place).

The overall quality of the antenna and wire is good, but the wire it comes with is only 8 feet. If you plan to mount them on say a toolbox or even the bed rails the wires will likely not be long enough. Ive got an extended cab pickup and they didnt even reach the bed. Other than that the mounts are really good so its a good kit.

These are not fire sticks at all or even close. They are ok antennas if you tune them but the biggest problem I had with them was the flex they didn't have.I bought these for when I go offroading with friends we can all communicate while driving. These are not good for that application. These are very stiff and do not bend easily. After about two months of having them they broke going down the freeway. I would not recommend these.

This was a great item! i purchased along with a midland cb radio. The antennas are pre-tuned and work really well. I manipulated the mirror mounts and turned them side-ways and mounted them to my tool box. So they work for more than just mirror mounts. Dual antennas looks bad azz. Def worth the money. No spring needed. unless you just want one. Just as good quality as firestick but cheaper. shipped 2 days ahead of time.
