French Press Coffee Maker 1 liter 4 Cup, Quality Glass and Stainless Steel

This is my first French Press coffee pot, and I am extremely impressed. The Coffee pot itself is very nice and very attractive. The metal is strong and shiny, and the glass is thick enough to hold heat and stand up to some wear and tear. The plunger is very well designed. When I initially thought about how French Press works, I was concerned about having grounds in my coffee, but the plunger is designed in a way that I don't think coffee grounds could make it through the mesh at all. The plunger depresses very smoothly, and the lid fits on tightly.The coffee pot holds about two medium-sized (20oz, maybe) travel mugs of coffee. One of the things that impressed me the most was how well the coffee pot held the heat during the steeping and between cups. Also, since this is my first french press, I am not sure if this is typical of French press coffee, but I found the coffee I made with this French press to be more rich and flavorful than my usual drip coffee, made with the same ground coffee.Pros:* easy to use* made of quality materials* make really great coffeeCons:* has to be cleaned more thoroughly than a drip coffee maker

I've been wanting to try a French press when I found this one. I have always heard the method of brewing creates a better flavor. We did a side by side taste test between the old coffee pot and this guy and the flavor was far superior. It has a slightly better after taste with a richer brew. It's a beautiful peace and I always have a tea kettle on the stove so it makes for a quicker couple cups of coffee or tea. I used it to brew some tea as well and the plunger makes for an easy pour with little coffee grind/tea flakes making its way into the cup you are drinking from.

This press arrived well packaged. It makes great coffee. However, poor quality workmanship make it worth less than what it cost. The first problem to arise was that the screen keeper tends to get lost when the screen is disassembled for cleaning. Bodum affixes their keepers to the ridged bottom bracket making it virtually impossible to loose. The second problem came when the spot welds broke while pouring finished coffee. Thankfully, I was able to keep the very hot contents from spilling on me. This failure could cause serious injury if one were to spill the near-boiling contents on any part of one's body. I attempted to contact the seller regarding these issues, but they were unresponsive.Overall, I would not recommend purchasing this press. It was a bad experience all around.

Love this press, first time using one, had a coffee from a coffee shop and they used one and I was hooked, easy to make, easy to clean, great fresh cup of coffee.
