It is just a little slow

Mine didnt work.
Previously had one of these or similar that came with a grilling set...I really liked it. Easy to use, because let's be honest I need all the help I can get in the kitchen. I need it spelled out for me. But ordered this one and it didnt work when I finally opened it. Should have returned but waited too long....it may be a dud but was definitely bummed. Tried other batteries too. It's worth the try on prime but make sure to open and test as soon as you get it! :)

Perfect Turkey!
Used it to cook turkey on Thanksgiving for the first time. It was easy to use, buttons and display are user friendly. My turkey turned out perfect so the thermometer gave me an accurate read. It was packaged in a nice box. I only wished it has an on and off button.

Works great!
I used this product for a roast we were making on Thanksgiving. It turned out perfectly. I have never used a meat thermometer and wanted to step up my cooking game this year. It turned out great! Worked as I needed to and accurate.

Went from Working to Unreliable to Dead
We purchased this item from Amazon in February 2017. The product information says that it has a lifetime guarantee. The one we purchased worked intermittently for the some time and then went completely dead. Our use of the thermometer was infrequent, less than one time a month. We have changed the batteries more than once with no improvement in performance, and, now the thermometer is completed dead. I'm now waiting to see if they honor their guarantee.

Works
It works as intended so far. No batteries included and it takes either 2 AAA or AA, I can't remember which offhand. Either way it works fine. The plastic handle might feel a bit cheep, but it shouldn't cause a problem if you aren't throwing it around. The prongs look to be stainless steel which are good and standard for an item like this.
