Up North Futon Lodge Natural Coated Finish Frame w/Mattress Full Size Sofa Bed (Marmont Thunder Fabric)

We use this futon as a guest bed in our small, NYC living room and it’s great. The frame is beautiful -- very solid, very sturdy, and heavy enough that it doesn’t easily move around (though we put non-slip rubber underneath since it sits directly on a hardwood floor and otherwise slowly slid forward when we had it open flat and would sit with our backs against the wall). It doesn’t make a sound upon sitting on it and doesn’t feel like it’ll lift up on one side if too much weight is on one of the edges when you open it up as a bed.The mattress also looks very nice and I’ve slept on it several times, so it’s comfortable enough for that. My only complaint is that I can’t say I haven’t had a better futon mattress in the past — you can feel the springs or whatever material is inside the mattress if you kneel on it or if you’re readjusting your position, but once you’re laying down flat, it feels fine. Firm and decently comfortable.The mattress is also very heavy and does not have handles or anything to make it easier to lift the futon back into its upright sitting position, so me and my fiancé find that making the decision to open it flat is a bit of a commitment — putting it back upright is somewhat daunting.Overall we’re very happy with the futon. It’s the only one we’ve seen in a long time that looks nice enough to replace a sofa in the living room. Other futons typically look like futons, if you know what I mean. We wanted something that looked like a solid piece of furniture for adults, and this futon does pull that off. We’ve had it for about a year now and although we might eventually replace the mattress with something lighter-weight and softer, it’s generally been a great purchase for us.

This was exactly what we wanted for our northwoods lake property. It was well boxed, complete, easy to construct, and has far better frame and cushion quality than many similar units we tried. The trouble-free delivery was handled by USPS through FEDEX, and it arrived well ahead of the estimated date. It is remarkably comfortable. Be aware that the cushion is rolled into a shipping carton and requires about a day of lying flat to relax to its intended form before it provides smooth and comfortable support.

I was really very pleasantly surprised. After looking for quite some time locally for a piece that would stand up to a lot of abuse (4 dogs and a couple of humans) I held my breath and ordered this without really seeing or feeling it, hoping for the best. The mattress is very sturdy and firm, easy to dust/wipe off, and my achy back loves it. Assembly was about 2 hours with good directions and all pieces included. The frame also seems nice and sturdy. It is cool and comfortable, so terrific on the hot days we have been having. The color is rich. Excellent quality for the money in my opinion, and looks wonderful! Very pleased.

I would give this 5 stars but the color is not very accurate for the wood. The unit I received almost has a green tinge to it and looks painted where as the photos make it appear to be stained. I'm fine with a painted look, it's just the unit I received and the photos are not even close.The mattress is solid, and comfy. It was very easy to assemble. It does not feel like a cheap futon at all. I was hoping for something that appeared to be rustic, but the frame coloring takes away from that.

I've owned a few futons over the years and this is by far the best. It's very sturdy and looks great. The mattress is nice and firm which is good because we use this as our everyday couch also. I have no problem turning it into a bed but it does seem to take 2 people to put it back up. Also, the mattress does not slide down and look sloppy like most futons seem to do. Overall we are very happy with it.

Excellent transaction. I received a lot quicker than they said, it came in three boxes, and deliver right to the door. I am very pleased with the futon! It is very NICE looking, and appears very sturdy. Really was not that hard to put together, just time consuming. I am pleased with everything, thanks so much!

What you see is what we got. Quality of wood and finish is superior and fabric of mattress is much better looking in reality. Colors are rich and although a "busy" print, the design is actually quite nice. It is surprisingly comfortable to sit on as a couch and to sleep on as a bed..what more could you ask for? It took us a little over two hours to put together , the directions are good. A get what you pay for item...! Shipped fast and well packed.

This is a very comfortable high-back futon. It took a little time for my husband and I to put together, but the pieces are well-crafted. It looks beautiful in our lake house.I think it should be very comfortable to sleep on as the inner springs offer a lot of support.
