Incredible headset I carry everywhere now!
If you make a number of conference and VoIP calls, especially through Skype this is a wonderful set. Here's all the reasons I love this headset:1 - Bluetooth connection - I can listen to my music and work either from my iPhone or the PC, and take calls without missing a beat when they arrive on either the cell or the PC. Just make sure you get familiar with the inline remote and how to turn off the Bluetooth. It took me a few days to figure that one out and I assumed it was always or nothing. It will fight like a frenzied shark to stay connected especially against other Bluetooth devices like your car's hands free during a call, while going 65 on a highway. Turn off the Bluetooth before you pack them in the trunk or you will go crazy on a call. All my fault for not reading the manual.2 - Stereo headset - great sound for music and for calls! I love them as much as my high end earbuds for sound, but don't have to shove them in my ears, and they are comfortable enough for me to wear for hours.3 - Noise cancellation microphone - excellent call quality reported to me by co-workers and friends. I was in a loud busy airport right by the gate (DFW) on a call with the boss and she said she heard it clear as a bell as if I were in a quiet room talking directly on the phone. Big win for conference calls - wish EVERYONE on my calls had this.4 - Inline controls - these are almost perfectly designed for me. Volume control, mute and buttons to choose between VoIP or Cell calls. Not sure what would happen if I had one of each at the same time. But worth trying I guess.5 - Battery built in to controls - allows you to break free from the PC and holds a charge for a good long time. I have not had it peter out on me yet during a call or music. I even used it to listen to an audio book all afternoon while I cooked dinner for Thanksgiving. As long as you are in range of the phone or Bluetooth source, you're good to go and can move around without any loss of quality, until you get too far away.6 - Wearing sensor - can't recall the actual name, but it senses when you pick them up and when you take them off. Really helpful for Bluetooth calls, since it can auto-answer when you pick them up and put them on. Timing is nearly perfect for me. It does get hokey at times if you are listening to music or something and bend over to pick something up or tie your shoelaces, but it pauses the source (iPhone at least) and resumes immediately so I can't say that's a bad thing.7 - Flexible boom mic - can be adjusted very easily and moves out of the way when you just want to listen.8 - Simple to use software to help control or set features and keep an eye on the battery level, but you don't need to use it at all if you don't want to do so.Things I don't love:1 - The mute button is a great feature to have inline (common) but there's a dead period while the little lady's voice tells you "Line Muted" or "line unmuted", which is just long enough to be a pain and cause you to miss conversation. So I rarely use it now, it just takes too long to shut up and be or not be muted, and I miss some details being given during a call. I just use the phone's mute or on the PC when I need to. This would be great if you could turn off the voice notification and just beep quickly without muting the sound you are hearing. I do love and need the confirmation on Bluetooth On/Off, so hope that never changes.2 - Doesn't look like I can change the battery. Meaning I may have to part with these someday for a new pair, and that may mean different features I may or may not like. Not such a bad thing, but #1 seemed lonely here so I had to find something else. Not really much to say bad about these.I hope they never change this model much, only that they tweak the mute notices and such, since I truly enjoy these and am one of the pickiest people on the planet when it comes to tech devices like this.

On balance, a very nice unit that I enjoy using
This headset works well enough. It limits background noise from my surroundings, in terms of both what the user can hear and what the parties on the other end of the conversation can hear. One of my favorite features is the lighted mute button on the little control unit, as I spend a lot of time on conference calls on VOIP. The other feature I am enjoying is the bluetooth connection with my cell phone, which allows not only allows me freedom to move about during the call, but the mute button is very useful with the call phone as well. Cell calls can be terminated or started (with Voice Control) with the headset.I have connected the unit to my PC through bluetooh, but it needs additional software to make it useful with VOIP. USB connection works well, but the unit is configured to control Lync, which I don't use for phoning. It would be nice if it would controlAvaya or other phone software, but it does work well as a headset with Avaya. My least favorite feature is the placement of the control unit along the line. The amount of line is enough to comfortably clip the thing on a belt or pocket, which is great for when you're walking around. But for a seated office worker, the control unit hangs down into my chair, where it gets caught on the chair mechanisms. Consequently, I keep a foot+ of the cord hanked with a tie, so that the control won't hang lower than my waist when I'm sitting.I initially set the unit up to say "Mute On' and "Mute Off" when the mute-state changes, but I've decided that was not necessary. In fact, it's intrusive. If someone asks you a question while you're on mute, the "Mute Off" is superfluous when you hit the red button to come off mute, and it delays your response time. I could probably talk over it, but I find that hard to do. I want to change that setting, but the software no longer recognizes the unit. That's probably something I just need to figure out.Another slight debit is the comfort of the unit. The earpads are comfortable and they cut out sound from the outside, but the leather-covered piece that goes over the head is not well padded.

Amazing headsets. Superb customer service
I've had these headsets fro 2 years now, I've bought 13 more for my coworkers since we work next to each other and want to make sure the mic does not pic anyone else conversation. These do an excellent job on getting only the person talking and no other sound. They are super confortable and do a great job in noise cancelling. A month ago after continuous use for one and a half year the headset started making a small buzz, I would imagine something broke on the noise cancelling, so I thought I would have to buy a new one, to my surprise after calling their support line (0 minutes waiting to talk to someone) they guided me through register and they are sending me a new one, looks like these have a 2 year warranty!!

"No Firmware update available"
Do not get these if you ever plan on using them with Skype. The only version of Skype where the handheld controller will work is Skype Version 7.59 (37). That is the March 2017 update. The headphones will still work on updated versions yet the remote does not work. The mute does not work while using the bluetooth either. I've also never been able to pair my cell phone with the headphones. No issues pairing with my computer though. All of the features that motivated me to buy these have an issue. Sound quality is good and I can wear them for a couple hours at a time yet I will never buy another Plantronics product again. Customer support is decent but have no solutions.
