Harry Potter Spell Book: The Unofficial Book of Magic Spells from the Harry Potter Series Paperback – April 25, 2017

I bought this for my 11 year old daughter as the description said it was 'fun' for children. The book consists of 'spells' - ones that you have heard in the Harry Potter movies or read in the book series and then made-up spells (which is fine...no problem with creativity). Each spell has a 1-2 sentence spell description followed by some sort of funny-ish comment/use for the spell. Unfortunately there are a good number of comments in there that are not appropriate for children or would just go completely over their heads - not much fun. Example:Anti-Cheating Spell...last part of description "Can also be case on Facebook if your wife's been talking too much with her ex."Luckily Amazon was kind enough to accept a return.

My grandson is a huge Harry Potter fan. I took him to Universal, and we waited in line for 2 hours only to find that he was 1/4" too short to go on the ride. We left with a broomstick and wand along with some other souveniers. I bought him the Spell Book for Christmas, and he has carried it around with him wherever he goes. He's casted a lot of spells, and I'm somewhat relieved that they didn't work (for his siblings sakes... lol). It's a thin book but packed with cool spells that keep him entertained for hours!

It is for our oldest grandson’s birthday in August!

8 year old loves it. Was going to get an app but a hands on book was the way to go. Spells are fun and can go anywhere.

Flimsy paper back, looks cheap, and no actual spells in to book just names of spells and what they do. Certainly some of the comments shouldn't be in here as it's directed at Harry potter fans who are young. No picture as gone straight in the bin.
