Looking forward to less flies in the house.
When we grill or use the smoker, the flies cometh to the patio in force in the summertime. When we have guests over to swim, the back door is constantly opened and closed giving the little bastardos an opportunity to get in my house. My non-adult kids are the only sycophants not paying rent allowed to loiter around here. Therefore, I was looking for a way to thwart the unwelcome guests. My choices seemed to be a penny in a bag of water hanging over the door, stinky bag to lure them elsewhere, or an air curtain. My wife was not OK with the bag o' water as apparently it has an "undistinguished" appearance about it. So we went with the more modern technology of blowing a bunch of air at them to keep them away. Install was not too bad but I did have to first install a piece of wood (used a pressure treated deck board) over my brick (one pic attempts to show this) due to having some bricks that were slanted when laid for aesthetic purposes. The deck board gave me a level, yet still solid base to attach the curtain mounting bracket. Note: the bracket has to be perfectly centered over the door as the pre-drilled holes for the mounting/holding screws don't give you any wiggle room to tweaking the curtain to the left or the right. Although, if you didn't or couldn't make this perfect, you could drill your own holes in the bracket where you needed. Additional side note: I went into the brick with lead anchors that I put some gorilla glue on first and then TapCon type masonry screws (after glue set) with a hex bolt type head so I didn't have to worry about possibly stripping a phillips head. Unit lifts on to the top of the mounting bracket and then the screws at the bottom hold it in place. Attaching the magnetic switch wires was pretty simple. You can tape them, use wire nuts, or the crush type wire connector thingy that I'm not sure what the name is which is what I used. I had to elevate the door sensor to get a close enough connection but a quick cut of some left over luxury vinyl flooring was perfect for such. Then screwed it to the door and used the included adhesive for the door jam sensor. Works like a charm. The only thing thus far that I wish is that when you open the door, the curtain would get to full power faster than it does. It takes about 1-2 seconds for the air velocity to reach full power. Those could be precious seconds for satan's spawns to get in my house. The remedy: Tell the kids over and over and over again to please crack the door just slightly until the fan gets to high and then go outside or inside. Does that work? Of course not; they're my kids and I'm the dumbest person on the planet! Why would they listen to me? But that's what I do and while I don't know if it has a benefit, it makes me feel better... Hopefully the air curtain holds up. It's installed outside but well out of the elements due to our patio cover. No rain can get to it unless it's the apocalypse of rain storms. So far, it seems to do the job. For the money, if it indeed keeps flies out during high traffic in/out of the house, it's worth every penny to a guy that can't stand them getting into the house. I'll try and post an update after a few BBQ's with friends over (when the curtain is needed most...) to report more on the overall effectiveness. 6/20/25 Update: Air curtain is still going strong. Have not had any issues with function. Am definitely getting my money's worth!

It does what it claims to do !! Flys no more !!
What I like about the air curtain it keeps the flys out , installation was fairly straight forward had to drill new holes in the mounting plate to align with the studs ...no biggie i recommend a helper ( my wife )for easier mounting , remote worked , the magnetic switch works great it is a bit noisy but thats a small price to pay for keeping the flys out ...highly recommend

Small, Quiet, and Affordable
Used inside a light commercial brewery over several exit doors. Applied to cmu block walls with expansion bolts and rubber washers at sound attenuators, used 110v on a 20amp circuit for three entry doors, added the door switch kits and was pleased. Quiet, simple to use. Used 90 degree pigtails and balanced the rotors. Took 1 day to install 3 with surface mounted conduit and grounded outlets on a dedicated circuit. Just in case we want to place the units on a timer and use them as white noise. Time will tell how well made they are, this brand is not known for high quality. No surprises. These were not used near steam or the brewing section but customer seating. There are models with UVC germicidal units. Located 2000' from the Chesapeake Bay, used for insect control. At the one year mark they are still going strong.

Think hard, may not be worth it
I installed this air curtain over my back door leading to the covered porch. I live in the Houston area and the summers are hot. I thought this was fantastic at first. I found out if the door gets left open for any length of time, the humidity and temperature rises dramatically in that room. I was still confident until I noticed it more and more over time. Then I received my first electric bill after getting it. It went up about $20.00 then the next one went up about $40.00. This is the highest electric bill I have had in the last 6 years since all of my children moved out. I debated for several more weeks thinking I had 90 days to return it thru Amazon only to find out the company only offers 30 days and I am a month past that. I really love the idea, just not sure if it works correctly for household use. I still even see mosquitoes in the house, possibly even more than before installing. Good luck on your decision.

Great for a spacious lower-level garage bathroom in FL heat & humidity.
Installed in a spacious lower-level garage bathroom. Effectively keeps out bugs with a refreshing cool blast of air, perfectly countering Florida’s heat and humidity. The noise level on high is unobtrusive for this setting. Question to Awoco engineer: Is there a source for a timer delay to integrate between the Air Curtain’s yellow leads and the magnetic door clip’s white leads? I’d like to keep the fan running for 5 to 10 minutes

Easy install- nice finish.
Super easy to install, the holes in mounting plate were not EXACTLY where I need ed them, so I just punched a couple of new jokes, screwed it to the wall, hung the unit, and BAM! Switch was super easy and works great. Don't like the noise? Shut the freakin door and it turns off! Works great- moves a lot of air.

Would prefer a zero but not available. I bought this but could not find someone to install it. Unfortunately I was 2 days past the return date. It’s broken, they advise you in the instructions that it could be broken, insane. So now I have a broken unit hung over my door. I’m suppose to reach out to the manufacturer for replacement parts, but not sure what needs to be replaced. Then who is going to fix it. I am stuck with a very expensive unit that doesn’t work. Another win for the flies. Don't buy this.
