Styrene modeling: How to build, paint, and finish realistic styrene models Perfect Paperback – January 1, 2000

This book has blown my mind within the first few chapters, in my opinion it is the bible of conversions, scratchbuilding, and kitbashing. It's an excellent example of a how-to-guide of virtually every aspect of working with polystrene plastics. As a Wargamer and modeling enthusiast this book is in my opinion a perfect quick referenece guide to how some modelers achieve awards for scratch building and conversions. This book is absolutely stuffed full of what Golden Demon awards are made of!

It's a great bood but I felt like is was lacking in a lot of areas, mainly in how to curve strene, what to use to heat it up, and examples of kitbashing (I was a little surprised star wars wasn't mentioned in the little info they did have on it). If you really wanna learn about this stuff Adam Savage on Test (youtube) has some great tips!

A very interesting book. I was expecting a book on plastic model kits but this had interesting stuff on building with sheet and rod styrene as well as kits. This is perfect for the person trying to get back into model building and looking to improve their skills.

Good information for those of you contemplating using styrene for model making...

The book is easy to understand and has many helpful hints. It was just what I was looking for when I ordered it.

Good book for the beginning to intermediate modeler. Would have like to see less general modeling techniques and more advanced techniques on specifically working with styrene.

This is a well written book and has plenty of examples of how to use styrene in model making projects. It is easy to read and easy to follow the instructions. I recommend it.

Lots of clear pic's, great topics with examples and a really good intro into Styrene - of course realize it's written / produced by Evergreen Styrene company so expect a tiny bit of selling in it. Overall, worth the ten or so I spent and will be keeping this near my hobby table.

Just what I wantedt

This is a book that I recommend all modelmakers to buy early on in their hobby. It is well-explained and very detailed and a must for your library.
