In my 2016 Highlander, I followed a you tube titled Every Toyota Highlander Needs This... Note that the new unit connects between the cigarette lighter plugs--one plug from the new unit into the power from the car and the other into the cigarette lighter.

There's a largish piece of plastic that contains both the lighter and the blank for this. Pop it out with a butter knife on the lower half of the left or right side. Should be pretty obvious where to go from there.

I have a 2012 Toyota Sequoia and this did not fit into the extra USB slot. It did plug in and functioned fine, but I did not want it sticking out and crammed in, so I will find another one that fits.

Installed in 2013 Corolla, it fits well on the dash though, as many mentioned, the 2 locking tabs are a bit too wide and stiff to go in as is. I had to shave down one of the tabs with a Dremel before the whole thing would sit flushed in place.A minor annoyance is the beveled LED seems too distractingly bright when driving at night. However I can now use the navigation app on the phone without depleting its battery.

Great device I installed on my Corolla 2017 where the heated seat buttons go. It works great and charges my phone pretty quick. It does have a blue rectangular light on that may bother some people since it’s kind of bright

A few months ago, I purchased this product and installed it in my car. I have a Toyota Corolla...no modifications, nothing. Car runs great...just wanted/needed a USB C plug. This is a simple install. It is plug and play. One day, I was driving my car, and smelled something burning. I could then see smoke from this plug. I stopped, took out my pocketknife and opened the compartment where this snaps into place. The thing was hot and smoking. I immediately disconnected it. Later, I checked it out. The fuse never blew, and the LED still works, but the USB/USB C does not. I contacted the seller, who sent me a replacement. It is currently working fine. But, be careful with this product and keep an eye on it.
