Educational Insights Math Whiz, Electronic Math Game, Ages 6+

I used this to help my elementary school kid with Math because they were struggling. This helped so much because now my kid has learned a lot and this made it fun so they would want to learn. I suggest this if you have a kid that's struggling with math. This should most definitely have it to were they would want to learn. It's worth the money.

Well, it's difficult for kids to learn multiplication facts. So any parent wants to help ease that displeasure. I thought this would help make it kind of fun. But, I have to talk my kids into using it. They ask me "For how many minutes do I have to do this?" So, I obviously failed. I think it's better than when I learned on flash cards. I think it's better than an app for ipad/iphone. It's an easy, hand held, take anywhere style that can easily help practice in the car or when/where ever. Now if I could just get my kids to agree with me. I like the price. I don't find it to loud or annoying even if there's no mute button. I have no issues reading the display. I like that it allows addition, subtration, multiplication and division for young kids. My daughter is 11 and in fifth grade. School is a challenge for her. This allows her to keep skills quick and strong without the stress of being timed. I like that and so does she. I also have an 8 year old third grader who's currently working on his multiplication in the sixes. What you can't do with this is program it to stay in a certain range. Like for example multiplication with six as a factor from 0 thru 12. I wish it could do that. But at any rate, what works for some kids might not work for others. Give it a try parents.

In my daughter's second grade class she is timed on addition and subtraction. The idea is to get kids to know the answer to 9+8 (for example) without thinking about it. Her teacher said that while she knew 9+8 is 17, she needed to get it out quicker. The teacher recommended flash cards to increase speed. While flash cards are fine, they aren't all that exciting for kids. This is like electronic flashcards, and my child finds it enjoyable. There is a flashcard mode and a calculator mode. There are also different levels. So level 1 has simple, Kindergarten or 1st grade problems, and level 8 has problems I had to think about for second. I have my child use it 10 minutes each night and I don't hear any complaints. She brought it in to show her teacher and she was impressed - said it would make a great center activity in the classroom. I plan on buying the teacher one for class use. I can't comment on the durability because I haven't had it very long. This is a great product either for the child that needs some assistance improving their math skills, or for the child who excels and needs a challenge.

Bought this for my 4 year old son who loves math. Love that you have addition, subtraction, multiplication and division on this device as compared to the math slam where you don’t have all 4. Perfect for his little hands and great tool to stimulate his brain.

There is no obvious positive or negative feedback that is very important for a child. Terrible rattle sound

I got my daughter to write down her scores on each level/number each day. She was able to keep track of how she was improving with practice.
