Uncle Ben's Boil in Bag Long Grain Rice (8x62.5g)

I grew up on this kind of rice. It cooks like rice should. But can't find it in the store. This is my go to. I won't eat rice unless I fix it at home and I know what im eating.

Perfect size package for small servings of rice.. Easy to prepare and is delicious!

I was pleased it arrived on time. The small individual bags make it so easy to prepare single servings since I have a family member who does not like rice. This way there is no waste.

We thought we were ordering normal sized boiler bags, instead little tiny bags of Uncle Ben’s from the UK, normal no longer available in US nor apparently in UK

As I have NEVER seen Ben’s ( formally Uncke Ben’s) boil in the bag packet in any other size than the only size has ever been sold in the USA- I was flabbergasted to find that these pkg’s were 1/2 the size and more than 4 times the price. I was willing to pay the price as I believe the “Uncle Ben’s” boil in the bag white rice has been discontinued and my stubborn 88+ yr old mother would NOT use any other brand such as Success or Minute. So when I saw the pkg- with the original name of “Uncle …” I immedietly put it in my cart. To find out that each of the 8 packets were 1/2 the size- yielding 4 pkgs of what I am accustomed to AT over 3, possibly almost 5 times the price of what the price ( not on sale) the box would usually sell for- I was angry at my stupidity and was about to vow revenge when I realized it was MY FAULT for not realizing that many companies offer desired items at an increased price and as such just grinned and bored the error of my gullibility. Please do not make the same mistake. It is clearly “Usary” and is disgusting that any merchant would consider taking advantage of people like that. If they sold that item or another item at 50% LESS than what it normally sells for- I wouldn’t buy another item from them. In addition - although not their fault- I am disappointed that Amazon would even allow a listing with prices so extreme, along with a lesser size and accept no responsibility resulting from their allowance of these merchants to sell to their loyal customers.

Whilst there was nothing wrong with the rice, the price was almost extortional. Purchased at the start of the COVID-19 thing and was expecting a lot more than this. I know it is in the description and I should have read it more thoroughly, but wow. #avoid
