Yes it’s a stick and that’s fine
Several people mentioned it’s just a stick, and I agree. It is. So why am I writing a good review? Because that’s how new trees are made. For years tree farmers propagated trees they already owned to grow new ones. It’s very efficient! For $27, it’s exactly what I expected it to be. And honestly I’m quite impressed because my little stick is doing very well. It’s already grown a handful of new leaves since I received it and more on the way. Its very healthy and I am so excited to use this during our wedding for our tree planting ceremony. I honestly think using a propagated stick from the mother tree is actually beautifully symbolic, in the sense that you had your life before each other but are now branching off and putting down new roots.

Saucer Magnolia
It came less than 8 inches tall in a 2in pot. The directions were only for transplanting in the ground but it showed the tree being WAY bigger. We were scared to transplant something that small so we transplanted to a bigger pot and will transplant at next season. It also didn’t come with directions for how to care for this little gal until we were ready to transplant. It is, however, the cutest thing and we have loved watching it grow. It came very healthy as well. If I could convince my husband I would buy more. It is a bit pricey.

Saucer Magnolia
Overall it was what I got. It was a starter plant about 14 in tall. If you want the real adult tree you better find a nursery and expect to pay a few hundred dollars for this one. I've got it potted and did come with instructions.Update, 2 years later the plant never grew. It died.

No complaints! Larger than I expected and leafing out. You'll probably see me again next year as I build my magnolia empire :D

Pleased
It came as a stick but it has one flower bud that’s ready to bloom in a few weeks and the buds where the leaves will grow. Very healthy and I’m pleased.
