Awesome Series!
Slow-ISH burn! I felt like there was actual progress on the relationships, and there was plenty of spice throughout without them going all the way. When they did, though... Break out a fan! Whew. It was good. Also, it's not necessarily insta love, but realistic attractions that bring them together with the help of the supernatural mate stuff. There's hate involved without it being enemy bully behavior and it makes it feel more realistic... But still fantasy... if you catch my drift. Almost COTR relationships!Princess is in love with her guard. Guard is in love with her but knows he can't have her, so he leaves for a few years. When he returns, it's to haul her off to pretty much, prison, and guard her there. Her white wings turned black, which means she apparently committed a heinous sin. The problem is that she has no clue what she could have done wrong. Once in prison, her feelings grow again for the guard and also for a smokin hot prison mate that also protects her. She's still a bad ass herself, though. The ending is FIRE and leaves you wanting more, but not without some closure. The book as a whole is gold. Read it!The character development was great! It flips through perspectives, from the FMC and the 2 MMC's, but then also blips to the cousin, Raven's, perspective a couple of times. I didn't feel like we needed Ravens perspective, and I think that's my only complaint. This book was good and I love that it's a series!

Interesting and fresh
This concept is different from the myriad of common tropes. The prequel set this story up nicely and finally we get into the quite but deadly Noir's story. Novik only begins to use full sentences around his fellow inmates when Layla, the princesses of the Nora shows up with her guard, Auric as the newest prisoner of Noir Reformatory. As a potential mate (one of only two she has ever met), Layla is intrigued by Novik while still pinning over her Nora Guard, Auric all while trying to figure out and survive the deadly games within the prison.Note, I like this series so far; it is interesting, but could only give it 4 stars because it seriously lagged in pace. The majority of the story took place in their cell where the same problem rolled through their heads over and over. It honestly got boring - which is quite uncommon for this author duo. I know they are setting the stage for the rest of the series, but I think there were missed opportunities for world building/ bonding with the other trio or even each other.

Holy. [Redacted].
This is one of the most delicious stories I've read in a long while!! While I wouldn't consider it dark, the brutish Alphas do not disappoint and our FMC is not to be underestimated. In the first part of the book I wasn't too impressed with Layla's haughtiness, but thankfully that seemed to disappear. *SPOILER* Then there's Auric- his attempts to totally disregard Layla after her fall definitely feeds the storyline but absolutely pisses me off and I wish that Layla would have given him more hell after he realizes that he [redacted] up and he should have been groveling for her forgiveness... but Novak is perfect and I've got dibs!

A lot of Characters
I do feel like I was thrown in the middle of a story on this one. This is my first book by this author, and I feel like there is a book before this one. As if this was a continuation of their book. I could be wrong, I did not look it up.I walked away with more questions than answers and a plot twist at the end. I feel that I would have really liked this if it was only about Layla and her love interests. There are simply too many main characters.

Great start
These authors are great together, imho. Better together than individually. I thoroughly enjoyed the first book in the series (Raven’s). This book flows well, maybe even too fast; the characters are more than stereotypes; the editing is good. I like the larger story, it’s complicated enough to be interesting, but not stupidly convoluted. I wanted more time with the bonded relationship. Obviously this is a series so if lovey togetherness does not stamp itself all over the next book(s) I’m going to spew the hate. Public service announcement: subsequent books are NOT quickly forthcoming. I’m torn whether or not to wait for the whole series or suffer 6+ months between efforts.

First Offense
Darkly delightful! I really enjoyed it. The story was fast-paced and full of twists and turns that kept me wondering what would happen next. And with an ending like that I can’t wait to see where things go!

Wow
This book had more of Sayirs plans of the culling and revelation revealed. We get to see Layla and her men get closer and she is learning more about herself. Have to read more to see what else is in store for them

Novak and Auric
A princess, her guardian, and her dark warrior. The trio are forced to share a locked cell inside the Noir Reformatory -- where the only battles were life or death, and the truth was obscured behind the mysterious plotting of the cruel mad Nora.Layla quickly accepts her new reality of black wings obtained from her fall from grace... and then stumbles into the embrace of her fated mates. For a story that takes place in a single room, it moves along quickly... but the over all plot is barely progressed in this installment... we learn nothing new about the mysterious reasons behind a fall or the reformation lies. The menage trios of Raven and Layla band together onto another test -- hoping we get some explanations in the next book!!! The hints and trickle of information can only keep me hooked for a short time. I'll give book 3 a chance a redemption! :D

Sexy, delicious fallen angels...what more could you want?
Whenever these authors get together you know that something magical is about to happen. They did it the first book, aptly named Noir Reformatory and they have smashed it again in this. There’s nothing not to love when they work together! So back to First Offense....Firstly, what’s different than NR? Well for starters we have new characters.I fell in love with Novak in the first book and I’m still in love with him now...and now we have Layla and Auric added to the mix and they ain’t too bad either!Secondly the world building. Okay, we still begin at Nightmare Penitentiary, which, if you’ve read the first book you will know that it is one of the dirtiest, crudest, darkest and most sadistic prison systems of this world. However, throughout the book, things happen and scenery changes and as usual, I am left in awe about how these two author’s imaginations can explode onto the pages. You think you’ve read it all and then you’re like “what the actual F is going on?”Absolutely adored this book this world and the characters that reside in them and I cannot wait for the next book. More Novak to feast on and that can’t be a bad thing!

Good story
Layla's story wasn't as interesting as Raven's but was still quite good. The prison is seriously messed up with lots of live or die games.
