We purchased the mask for allergy relief of swollen eyes. The mask is great for this purpose, the soft beads behind the smooth plastic and fabric edges gently distribute cool relief when frozen according to the instructions. We love that it’s two-sided, providing a choice of soothing textures. What also has happened while following the instructions is that once frozen, bending the mask in order to wear it will cause the gel beads to crack and break. We have had this product less than three months and over that time, the beads have begun to deteriorate into mush. Thankfully the plastic has so far prevented the mushy mess from leaking. It's definitely not safe for small kiddos. This is ultimately a decent but disposable product. We'll be throwing ours out.

I had to return for a refund. I put it in the microwave for 30 seconds. At the 26 second mark, it exploded. Cheap cellophane type film over the beads,

I have a cod/flu "thing" with very, very painful sinuses and the bones all around the sinuses. The package was delivered directly to my apartment door, which was wonderful; I opened it; put the mask in the microwave for about 45 seconds and then over my eyes. And Ahhhhhhhhhhhhh; it was a complete relief from pain. I relaxed - more so then in the last five days. Am I cured - No but perhaps now my system will show its gratitude and throw the Bugs out. Thank you to the designer, manufacturer, supplier and everyone who had any part in bringing this product to me. Thanks Amazon and thanks to the delivery people.

I got mine earlier in the mail today + will update if any of the potential downfalls others mentioned occur, but at the moment I'm extremely satisfied.Pros:- I'm a dummy and didn't even realize this comes with 2. Twice the value + a backup if anything goes wrong with #1- heated up in the microwave fine without any smell or bursting, etc, as some had said. Of course, I only heated it once so far.- the felt side doesn't feel super plastic-y as I feared- comfy enough- works well (doesn't hold heat or cold for an eternity, but as long as you should expectCons:- again, will update if anything significant occurs- the fit is a LITTLE strange. not totally uncomfortable or anything, just kind of odd.- if you feel you want or need any sort of instructions besides the little bit on the tag (how long to heat and cool), it came with noneWould buy again.

A warm, damp compress was recommended by my optometrist for dry eyes. This is much easier to quickly heat in the microwave. 30 seconds is all that it takes in our microwave. While it doesn't seem very warm, it is plenty, as it would be easy to injure your eyelids and skin if it is too hot.

My eye doctor recommended something similar - wanted to charge me over $30 for the one they carry but, fortunately, they were out of stock. Came home and ordered the pink one. I like it - it heats up in about 30 seconds, holds warmth for quite a long while, and if i want to i can use it around the back of my neck instead of over my eyes - so versatile! Since it can be used for heat OR cold, I am keeping my pink one for heat, and ordered a blue one to keep in the freezer.

I've used this twice and I love the way it feels. I'm using it for dry eye syndrome so I do hot compresses twice a day. My only complaint is that this came in a thin plastic bag with no tags, just a small label identifying what it was on the outside of the bag.. The instructions for use were on a tag sewn to the eye mask instead of on a paper insert with the mask. At first I wondered whether this was a return but it appears new. I've used 2 other masks, one with lavender and one without and this one is the one I like best.

I received the eye mask and immediately put it in the freezer. I recently had eye surgery, my doctor advised to use ice packs 3 to 4 times a day. As noted by other reviewers, there seems to be moisture inside the mask along with the gel filled beads. This moisture freezes to ice inside the mask and makes the mask very stiff. I have a similar mask purchased from another retailer and that mask does not have moisture inside. When it is frozen the other mask is very pliable and easy to use. This mask is much more difficult to mold to your face, so you do not get even coverage. I have used the mask, for the price it is not worth returning. However I would not recommend this product.
