UPDATE: 3 years later! (Defective one was okay; its replacement is fantastic!)
UPDATE 7/14/2017 I've now been using this wallet as my only wallet, in my pocket, for 3 years. Some non-essential stitching has just broken. I'll keep using it until it gives out entirely, then buy another one. Do you see how much stuff I can fit in this thing? Also: My mom wanted my old, defective, butterfly wallet, so i gave it to her. She has now been using it as her on;y wallet for approximately 2.5 years. These things are kinda addictive.ORIGINAL REVIEW:This wallet is exactly what I thought it would be, with three pockets for multiple cards in each and one slot for cash or receipts. I knew from reading other reviews that cards can sometimes slide out easily, and that stacking multiple cards in one slot helps prevent this. The one I received has the card slots in unequal sizes, with the far left slot quite snug, the middle slot looser and the right slot extremely loose. This is a different problem than the old version of the wallet, which intentionally had the middle slot larger than the two side slots. For now I'm accommodating the problem by using more cards in the looser slots, but I may need to end up modifying my wallet or sending it back to (hopefully) get a non-defective one. I also contacted the wallet inventor's website to give them a heads up on it. It's such a nice product it'd be a shame to see it ruined by sloppy stitching.I was a little surprised to see a tag sewn on the inside of an "ultralight" item, but the gram-counters would be happy to note that this can be easily cut out.I'd say before buying this just make sure you're the sort of person who doesn't mind getting creative with their EDC. If cards are falling out, add more to the pocket or folded bills also help, which can double as emergency cash. That sort of thing. If your happiness depends on this wallet behaving exactly like a normal leather wallet, then go buy a normal leather wallet with which to enjoy life.Me? I've had my leather bifold for a while, but once I transferred its contents into the Butterfly and saw that my old EMPTY wallet weighs more than my Butterfly with all the stuff in it, I knew I'd made the right decision. Plus it's SO TINY by comparison. I keep feeling it just to marvel at the size. It's put a stupid grin on my face all day and it's not wearing off anytime soon. That, my friends, is worth $12.45.UPDATE 7/23/14 - I sent a friendly FYI email to Mark Winstein, the creator of theĀ Butterfly Wallet , and discovered the one I got was officially defective. He sent out a replacement right away. The replacement is definitely worth 5 stars so I've adjusted my rating. I couldn't be happier with it. The slots are even and each easily holds 3 cards, and can be turned upside down and lightly shaken without any falling out. I still like folding bills behind the cards as extra insurance, but now it's more just because I want to rather than from genuine necessity.I've wanted one of these for a long time; I'm glad I finally got one. It's a simple product - what you see is what you get. If you like what you see, you'll like what you get.

It's gone 1400 miles with my BFF
Admittedly, I'm not the one using it, because I'm a diva who barely likes day hikes, much less backpacking. But my BFF is doing the Appalachian Trail. Before she started, she asked me to research ultralight wallets and buy her one for Christmas. I liked the idea that this wallet gets its shape from using your own cards, and it seemed plenty light, plus the purple color was perfect for my best friend. She's now just over 3 months in, and has made it from GA to NY, and is still carrying this. If you're looking for a backpacking wallet, this seems to fit the bill. But if you're into a ziplock bag, there seem to be plenty of folks happy with that too. But my BFF really wanted a dedicated wallet and this seems to float her boat and it wasn't too painfully expensive for me :)

The best minimalist walled I've ever owned!
I very much like this wallet - it's by far the best minimalist wallet I've ever had.The common flaw I've seen with every other minimalist wallet so far is that you need to fold your money to fit; this makes it just that much more inconvenient to use the cash. This one allows you to put it in unfolded.I also like the use of nylon - leather is a good bit thicker, and metal doesn't conform to my body. The nylon also allows for tighter seams, making the wallet barely any bigger than a credit card. The little touch of space between the compartments is good, too - it allows the sections to easily lay flat against each other when loaded.I've read some complaints from other reviewers that things can slip out of the pockets if they're not loaded enough. I find that adding a filler (maybe a piece of a file folder) alleviates that, without making it appreciably thicker. As to the price? Well, it's the least expensive minimalist wallet I've seen, so there's that. Can you get something for less? Well, yah, but it won't be this small. All in all - best I've ever owned.

Just what I needed
A friend recommended this to me because I like to go around without carrying a purse but like essentials with me. I especially wanted it in time for traveling to Asia as a way to keep local currency and a credit card easily accessible yet safe. Very lightweight, easily foldable even with lots of cash in it, and I don't even notice it in my pocket....except when I put my hand on my back pocket just to assure myself it was there. I'm outdoors a lot and like the idea that I can carry the essentials at all times. I know I'll use it everyday.

Tiny joke
I read the reviews that it was small, but this is a joke seriously. It's a tiny piece of windbreaker material, rolled in a third. Don't waste your money.

Compact and solid.
Like the colour. Let's me find it easily when low lit areas or on a cluttered desk. Material is solid, stitches are sound. Will see if it holds up over the next months.

Small, Simple, Perfect
Just what I wanted! (In blue) It fits nicely into the pockets of women's jeans, which is exactly what I wanted. If you turn it upside down and shake , yes, some stuff will fall out, but who does that anyway? I am ordering another one in violet.

I love it.
I love it.. Super compact. Literally folds into the size of a marble. But it maintains shape with a few cards in it.
