Blade not permanently affixed to shaft
The media could not be loaded. The blade is held to the shaft by a small pin, which could easy fail and separate in rocky conditions causing the blade to slip right off the shaft. Most paddles have the blade permanently affixed to the shaft. This design leaves much to be desired. It seems solid overall but I would not trust this paddle on even mild whitewater. I popped the blade off and glued the blade to the shaft, I’m sure that will help a little. There are better paddles available for $10 more, I would not recommend this paddle.

Great buy.
Went on a 35 mile canoe trip and they held up their end of the bargain. Sturdy, and easy to handle. Strong and light. Great paddles!

Solid Paddle
Took the paddle on a 55 mile float down the Missouri River. Overall, I like the length and paddle, but don't like the handle as much as it can only be held one way. It makes it a little more difficult to switch from left to right on the conoe.

rugged, lightweight, nice ergo handle
I love this thing -- I use it in Puget Sound (salt water) and it still looks brand new after a year or so. Has been used to push on rocky bottoms as well as a normal paddle. would buy again for sure if it ever breaks, though I don't see it ever breaking under normal use. the handle looks a bit weird, I'm used to a "normal" wood paddle, but it works well ergo-wise, feels like the curved offset top handle give you some extra torque -- it probably doesn't, but it feels good either way.

Great Design
Use this paddle to travel around one of our ranch lakes in our canoe. Works great, has a nice ergonomic feel to it. It replaced another one that was about 15 years old and had been in the canoe 24/7/365. The new one is much nicer and I expect should hold up very well. I like the 5.5 foot length.

Attractive, strong and comfortable
A reliable, strong, comfortable paddle. I use it to guide my way through Clackamas River on an inner tube. My previous solid wood paddles split. I used this paddle last Saturday and I got a piece of fiberglass (splinter) in my hand. I have three of these paddles and this is the first time.
