Brocraft Kayak Track Trolling Motor Mount/Kayak Motor Mount

I installed the Brocraft motor mount in geartrac on my compass peddle kayak and after several trips in saltwater I am happy with the mount. I have a 46 # thrust motor and it handles it in current and wind no problem. Very easy mounting.

We bought this for my husband to put on his boat and he loves it. No more rowing in the wind he says. It was easy to install on his boat nice and light.

While I'm as happy as can be with this being a transom mount, it has become an excellent place to add additional accessories.

I disagree with other reviews saying there is a lot of play/give, mine barely moves when I raise the motor out of the water! Its MUCH better than the Railblaza mount, in fact my friend bought the Railblaza mount for her kayak which is the same as mine (Pungo 120) but when she say how sturdy and solid the Brocraft mount was on my kayak she ordered the Brocraft to use instead! I did not get any instructions either but it's pretty obvious how it mounts, the tricky part is to get the mounts totally level, I used extra washers to get it level. I have a hard time getting the bottom of the large fasterer into the groove so I use the 4 smaller fasteners either side of the mounts... much easier and works just as good! I hurt my shoulder recently and being able to use a trolling motor instead of having to paddle the whole time is a godsend!

Looks like a quality piece of equipment and it is well built and light weight. I don't believe there is a perfect solution for mounting this thing but I would advise that you carefully consider your plan for mounting as all the angles and contours on these kayaks make it very difficult to install. I finally came up with a plan for installation and it worked out very well. I've not used it yet as the weather has been uncooperative this winter. As spring returns with better weather I will follow up with functionality.

I loved that it fits right in the track and is super quick to put on and off as I don't always use my trolling motor on my kayak. There were no installation instructions and I didn't try to install install I was out at the lake with no picture, so it took me a while. In the end, it just was not strong enough and no matter how much I tightened the motor it kept riding up and almost off where it attaches. It would be fine if I only ever used the trolling motor on low.
