Exactly What I was Looking For
I bought this to get "audio out" from my Epson Pro EX9220 projector. It works perfectly. This past Saturday night my wife and I watched the new Transformers movie on my garage door (about 280" diag), and this splitter sent the audio signal to a very large portable speaker, and it sounded amazing. The neighbors 3 doors down heard it and came over to check it out and stayed for a bit to watch. I was using a Chromecast to stream Vudu from my iPhone. This is exactly what I was looking for.

Didn't work at first
Digital output didn't work at first. Analog worked fine. Now digital is working, (Knock on wood.) wanted it to split the video and audio to my home theater when watching stuff on the Firestick. Works great! I don't wanna unplug it hahaha.

Purchased this item to allow my son to use his new wireless headphones with his PSP4 Slim. This device worked perfectly to provide the connectivity to connect the new headphones.

An "Either/Or" Device, Not "Both/And"
I have edited my original review on behalf of the vendor. The vendor contacted me and was sincerely earnest to solve the problem over several emails back and forth. The bottom line is that we agreed the vendor's detailed description about the 2CH mode (two-channel audio) did not have a clear statement that the HDMI port in that mode does not pass through 5.1 HDMI audio. So, basically, as I said in the original review, this device is an "either/or" device, not "both/and." Either you get full HDMI 5.1 audio or 2 channel stereo, but not both at the same time. Thus:(1) The "Pass" position on the sliding switch only passes all the information coming into the HDMI in port to the HDMI out port. This position, however, kills both the analog L/R audio out and the optical out.(2) The "2CH" position on the sliding switch only extracts 2 channel stereo audio (to all three outputs—analog L/R, optical, and HDMI). This position, in other words, kills any other HDMI audio information, such as 5.1 surround sound, etc. Thus, you cannot get both HDMI 5.1 surround sound out of the HDMI out port and 2 channel stereo analog audio out of the L/R out, which was exactly what I needed and why I bought the unit.In the original review, I also indicated I simply never could get analog audio under any circumstances or any setting, even 2CH mode. Unfortunately, I need a product to work out of the box. In this case, I simply did not have the time to send and receive multiple emails trying to figure out what was wrong, whether the splitter was defective or something not right somewhere along the way from my HDMI source to the box. HDMI signals, HDMI protocols, and HDMI devices have become so complicated that trouble shooting them is a headache these days, including determining whether your device is decoding bitstream or PCM audio, or your HDMI is 2.1 compliant, with or without certain further capabilities, or your HDMI cables are of a certain type, and more is just too time consuming. If you have the time to run all that down with the vendor, then you probably can get your unit up and running for whatever purpose you might have. Finally, I will say that the product seems well constructed and sturdy. However, for unclear product description and that I actually could not get the 2CH mode to work for me without time-consuming vendor email intervention, I will ding the device two stars.

I would recommend it.
Just what I needed! I used this for my Fire TV sticker to split the audio for our sound box. Does exactly what it says, works perfectly! I would recommend it.

Works well, small profile, I would recommend it to a friend.
It worked as described, I am able to integrate my older stereo system into my HDMI based A/V setup.

Great little unit
Works perfectly, about the size of a credit card (although much thicker). I am using it to split the audio from a Roku Streaming Stick to my old-school speakers and passing the HDMI video through to the TV. Video quality is unaffected (at least that I can see; 52" 1080p LCD). Audio sounds as expected; no discernable distortion. Great little unit!

I am pleased with the purchase as it does what it advertises ..
I ordered the CoolDigital HDMI Audio Extractor Splitter to use so that I could get audio to my surround sound as my projector has no internal speakers or audio out. The shipment came very quickly to me and was as advertised. The unit functions well and appears to be solid construction. I don't believe that the sound quality is top notch but it may be a problem with the source material (CraveTV) as opposed to audio extractor itself. I am pleased with the purchase as it does what it advertises it will do and is of decent quality.EDIT: I am pleased to report that after testing other audio sources that the sound quality did improve to what you would expect from RCA audio. Originally I had rated this as 3 stars but am now upgrading my review to 4 stars on the unit as I my initial concerns have been alleviated. I will edit this review again in a few months and add my thoughts on durability at that time as I have only had the unit for a couple weeks and that may change my star rating to five stars. I do not anticipate any problems with it though as it seems well constructed. I would also like to add that I received feedback from the seller about my initial concerns as well, and they seemed genuinely concerned about the problem I had spoken about. I did appreciate the unsolicited follow up and concern.

Careful, the unit may not do what you expect it to do
I have asked the seller if the unit always passes through the HDMI input to the HDMI output (unaltered) when audio is being extracted to as analog audio to the RCA outputs. The seller answered by copying and pasting the published specification of the device. Needless to say that if the specification was clear enough I would not have asked the question in the first place.Further research in the Amazon (US) customer reviews revealed the following:Quote: “....The bottom line is that we agreed the vendor's detailed description about the 2CH mode (two-channel audio) did not have a clear statement that the HDMI port in that mode does not pass through 5.1 HDMI audio. So, basically, as I said in the original review, this device is an "either/or" device, not "both/and”. Either you get full HDMI 5.1 audio or 2 channels stereo, but not both at the same time. Thus, you cannot get both HDMI 5.1 surround sound out of the HDMI out port and 2 channel stereo analog audio out of the L/R out, which was exactly what I needed and why I bought the unit.” End of quoteThe above was verified as true by me. Furthermore I verified that if the HDMI input source is not 5.1 or two channels stereo, there is no HDMI output regardless of the switch position. Thus I have returned the product to Amazon.ca.For those of us looking for a "both/and” solution, we are appear to be out of luck because I have not come across of a product in the marked providing it. If anybody does find one, please do not hesitate pointing to it.

If you have issues with ps4 slim do this!!!Exa
Excellent product and great customer support. I had issue when connecting this to my ps4 slim with no optical as it would shut off my tv. In order for this fix do the following:Go into ps4 settings and into system then uncheck Enable HDCP. Make sure HDCP is NOT on.Also when you do this make sure your ps4 is NOT connected to the splitter. Connect your ps4 to your tv directly to turn off HDCP then when thats done re connect ps4 to the splitter.
