Added this tachometer to my 36 hp pro drive and it works perfect. Great product for the price and quality is good. Exactly what I needed.

This exactly what I needed to set the idle speed on my Vespa. I didn't need a tach that I could mount for continual use, just one that I could use to set the idle speed when tuning the carburetor. I installed mine so that I could just tuck it away in the engine compartment when not needed, although it can be mounted if you wish.It worked better than I hoped for and allowed me to easily set my idle speed using the default setting that this unit uses. I could not be happier with the results so far. Time will tell if it lasts and eventually it will have to be replaced when the battery dies (the battery is internal and not replaceable).The display was easily readable in the garage, not sure how it would be in full sunlight, but for me that is not an issue since I intend to use it only for tune ups.The readout was quite stable and there was no issue with rapidly changing numbers. Very pleased so far!Be sure to get a good ground for the ground wire and it should work fine for you too. I wrapped the red wire 5 times around the spark plug wire and then secured it with electrical tape, which seemed to work well.UPDATE: After 30 hours of use (engine run hours) still working perfectly. I decided to mount it on a hole that was already in the metal frame of the engine compartment so it would be more secure - works perfectly and no chance of it slipping down and hitting the pavement. So glad I purchased this tach. My ear is not good enough to tell the difference between 2000 rpm's and 1,800 so I really needed this.

I purchased this for my ‘94 Yamaha C75 outboard motor, with little in the way of expectations. The combination of the low cost and the ease of the install raised serious questions in my mind about accuracy. However, for the cost, I finally concluded, “why not?”. Imagine my surprise to find the unit very accurate and ridiculously easy to install. The only reason for four stars instead of five is the lack of backlighting.

Nice product, easy install just follow simple instructions. Worked first time no problem at all. I installed it on my toro zero turn, 24HP Vtwin engine. Keeps fairly accurate RPM and HRs total hours and it can do job hours that can be reset. It also can be set for maintence reminder hours ,(oil filter change etc) if you looking for a timer I say yes ! Decent product at good price. I will update down the road to see if it lasts. PEACE

Original Review - Very easy to install with 2 zip ties holding the meter, a clip under a bolt for ground and the red wire wound around a spark plug wire 1/2 dozen times with a zip tie on the end of the red wire. I only use it to track boat motor hours to help me determine when maintenance is due. About 1/4 of the cost of the one I had on the motor that lasted 19 years. Took the boat out last week and ran the boat 9-10 hours trolling and it shows 9:30 hours.Update 9/24 - still like the ease of installation and how well it works but batteries on 2 I bought died after 4 years. They advertise as 6 years so a 5 star for how well it works but a 1 star for batteries dying much sooner than expected and can't replace the battery so have to buy again.

Good product but it could use better instructions. The hook ups are a little confusing and im unsure how long it will last. It does hook up to the battery and seems to use an internal battery. There is no way to change the battery so i think this is a disposable unit. Also the programming is a bit tedious. Small buttons and small hard to read selections at the very top of the read out are difficult to see especially in sunlight. Im not sure how well im going to like it but i hope once its programmed it lasts and works well.

Only worked for 8 months and just stopped working for no reason. There is no info on how to do a warranty claim on the product. More junk from China
