Pretty good modern take on Beauty & the Beast.
I tend to always grab Beauty & the Beast remakes since they are something I tend to enjoy to read. I enjoyed this, even though I didn't read the first book- Cinderella. I do feel I might have missed a bit of world building by not reading the 1st book, but not enough to feel totally lost. I wish this had been expanded a bit, it felt a little like a novella though Amazon lists it as 143 pages. The Beast character is a super character, honestly, what's not to like about him, a guy like that doesn't come around very often now a days. I never really understood why the town referred to him as a "Beast" though. Other than his shaggy looks & man bun (which I thought was in style right now) & loner personality, he was a gentleman in all his dealings with Belle. Now Belle, she was not sweet like the Disney movie Belle. She's almost a bit self absorbed. I almost felt she wasn't good enough for Beast. My main gripe, the insta-love, it's in all the romance books anymore, there's no build up of the romance & falling in slow falling into love, I really want the falling in love part, that's part of Beauty & the Beast story too.

Can a beast turn into a prince?
This is a series of novella length stories that are loosely based on the various fairy tales. They are each sweet and clean with no offensive language or sexual material. They do contain kissing. In Beauty and the Beast, Belle is able to see through the rough outward appearance of Adam. As she gets to know him, she finds herself coming to his defense to her friends. However, when she needs rescuing, will Adam be able to come to her defense in time?I enjoyed reading these stories. They are each simple reads with quick romances and very little conflict - just like every other fairy tale. They are meant to allow the reader to daydream of the possibility of meeting their own prince. My rating - 4 stars.

Re-vamped fairy tale
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. Belle and Adam were perfectly paired. I apreciated the fact that it was a good, clean story that talked about God and had a character with a high moral compass without being preachy. Ms. Thompson has done a wonderful job and I'm looking forward to reading more from her.

Beauty and The Beast
This was a quick, fun read. I imagine this is a modern day retelling of Beauty and The Beast but I have never read or seen that, so I have nothing to compare it to. I really liked Belle and how she exerted her independence, also how she got everyone to "meet" the real Adam.I read this novella in The Real Life Fairy Tale Box Set. I was given a copy by the I Am A Reader, Not A Writer Blog.2nd-in-series, 5-stars, fun-read, romance

Fresh, new fairy tale series
I LOVE this fairy tale series. Fun characters set in this cute, little country town. This story will sweep you right in. A fresh, new look at some beloved characters. I love the twist with Belle & Gaston.

Their love story progressed rapidly.
I give this 3.5/5 Darth Vader helmets. This is Jamie Brook Thompson's version of the classic Beauty and the Beast. Unlike Disney's re-imagined movie, this is a very modern take on the oldie-but-goodie tale. If I was impressed with the author's Cinderella version, I was not so by this one but it goes without saying that this story has its own merits.Belle here is a beautician. If I think about it, it's not so unexpected considering the story. I wished she were something else. Something more surprising like Cindee's character in Cinderella. I just thought it was too obvious that was what Belle's character would be like. I just didn't find anything so noteworthy about it. Beast on the other hand, Adam Anderson in this story, is very interesting, if not mysterious. The kind of beast that he portrayed here is so curious and it drew me in. I wanted to know how his character is in parallel to the original one. Another thing I liked about the story is how Belle and Adam met. It was akin to the wolf scene in the latest movie, only Belle was the one surrounded by the dogs and not his father.I did enjoy this story. It was so straight-forward and there was no beating around the bush. Their love story progressed rapidly. It was like a May-December love affair yet you can feel how the characters were so drawn to each other that you will tend to agree with the immediate plans to tie the knot.I give this 3.5/5 Darth Vader helmets. As I have said, I just wished Belle's character was more unexpected and as bad-ass as that of Cindee in the first book of this series. I just thought she could have been more than just being a beautician. She was feisty though. Nevertheless, Belle did step-up and showed that she wasn't some weak woman who was just going to take all the beating. That was a redeeming quality that put a happy-ever-after ending to this story.Thank you again, Kathy of ebooksforreview.com for the copy. This is a voluntary review. I was gifted a copy.
