A Versatile Bicycle Flashlight Mount
I am more of a recreational bicycle rider who occasionally stays at his biking destinations a little longer than he should to get home in daylight. I don't do a lot of night riding, but when I do I want to see and be seen. A full-time light is just not something I can justify investing in, so I went looking for a way to mount the LED lights I already own on my bike.I looked at several flashlight mounts online before settling on the the Bright Medic Strap Style Bike Mount for LED Flashlights (henceforth "the mount"). As soon as I took it out of the box, it was obvious that whatever Bright Medic lacks in the snappy-product-naming department was more than compensated for by their ability to make a high-quality bicycle flashlight mount.I installed the mount on the thickest part of the handlebar near the stem bracket of my 2012 Trek FX 7.3. The fit was snug and required only stretching the rubber strap around the bar and hooking it in place. This makes it easy to take with you when parking your bike in areas where thieves will take anything on your bike that isn't welded on and also makes bike-to-bike transfer a snap.I have two flashlights that I put into the mount for testing purposes: a SureFire E1e Exective Elite and a 4Sevens Q MiNi X 123. Both lights use CR 123A lithium batteries so the barrels are small diameter; the Q MiNi diameter is .80 inches or 20.32mm. The mount held both lights securely. I may supplement the rectangular foam pad that the flashlight rests on with another one to make the fit a little tighter, but I might get away without adding anything at all. It would have been nice if Bright Medic included an extra adhesive-backed foam piece, but it's nothing you can't find at the hardware store. One of the things that made Bright Medic's mount desirable to me was the combination of its compact size with the ability to rotate it a full 360 degrees. The mount has detents or click-stops that hold the rotation angle. There are six stops between 0 and 90 degrees, so you have the ability to rotate the light in 15 degree increments.I found that the mount can also be attached securely to the forks of a bicycle. When you combine this mounting point with the rotation feature, you can bring the light right down near the road where it's needed while (optionally) placing a second mount on the handle bars to make you visible at a distance. The mount also fits nicely around the seat tube for rear-facing blinking lights, etc.I'm giving Bright Medic's flashlight mount five stars. It's an inexpensive, yet well-made, product that can be mounted securely almost anywhere on a bicycle. Winner, winner - chicken dinner![TL;DR: A compact, inexpensive, rotating flashlight mount for bicycles that does a good job of holding small LED lights on pretty much any part of a bicycle.]

Would not buy again
When I tighten the handlebar strap down such that the device does not pivot on the bar, the strap pops free from one end and the whole unit falls off.The resolution of the horizontal detent adjustment is too wide, my handlebar mount location is not straight, and I can either see to the left or right, but not straight ahead. It does not hold the light snug enough, the light slides under the straps and can fall out, tightening the straps another notch just pops loose. Good concept, but does not work well for me.

Did not work for me
I was very excited about the prospect of using some of the flashlights I already own as bike lights. I have several small, single-LED Cree flashlights of various sizes. On the same day the package arrived, I strapped one of my smaller flashlights to my handlebars. Everything seemed pretty snug, so I went off on a ride on a local ~1 mile paved trail. Here are the issues I encountered...1) The flashlight bounces and moves around quite a bit. As it got darker, it was quite distracting to see the beam bounce around all over the place over every minor bump. The flashlight also kept angling down, requiring adjustment every few minutes.2) About 20 minutes into the ride, I hit a very minor bump and the strap holding the flashlight down broke off.I suspect that my issue is that my smallest flashlights are a bit bigger than this is designed to accomodate. Had I been using a very, very small flashlight (perhaps a pen-style), I think I would have been OK. However, if the smallest/lightest flashlight I own does not work, the purpose of this item is defeated.I am returning this item and investing in a "proper" bike light.

Good for air pumps, too
I used it to clamp an air pump that I had lost the clip for to my bike and it actually works really well. The mount has a swivel that allows you to mount the light (or, in my case, air pump) either parallel or perpendicular to the bar you're mounting it on, which is handy.I can see the rubber wearing out eventually; especially on the part with the larger holes (the part that attaches to the frame) as the actual mount loop is pretty thin. But at this price it's kind of a disposable item.

I'm trying to find the good.. really..
I am rating this product with 1 star because when I installed it:1) the bar band was tightened to the last rung and it wasn't tight enough to hold a small flashlight..2) then I placed my small edc flashlight on the mount and tightened the flashlight band the end of the band popped out of the mount..IMO, either one of these deficiencies would cause an instant fail as lighting at night is critical when riding.. the only reason I am not returning it to Amazon is because dumb-me tried to fix it by gluing the end of the flashlight band back in and it didn't work and I'd feel guilty for returning something I modified..Buy a better mount or get a somewhat cheap bike light..Again, IMO $5-6 dollars wasted is 100x worse than $50 spent on something you like and is dependable..

Compact and works with most handlebar styles
This is the second flashlight mount I've purchased. The first one (from a different manufacturer) was too bulky to fit properly on the curved handlebars of my Novara hybrid bike, so I picked this one up for about half the price. It's small enough to fit on just about any shape of handlebars which makes this particular style a bit more versatile. Basically, this mount consists of two adjustable rubber straps - one to hold the flashlight, and one to attach to the handlebars. The flashlight can also swivel a full 360 degrees while inside the mount.I tried this mount with a Fenix E21 LED Waterproof Torch Flashlight and everything stays secure enough. For rough terrain/mountain biking, I'd probably invest in a mount that clamps on so there's less chance of something sliding around or falling off. For a casual night time ride around the city though, this offering from Bright Medic is a great choice. It works as advertised and the build quality is very good for the price.
