Unleashing Musical Magic: My Beginning Journey with the Donner DST-152 Electric Guitar
I am absolutely thrilled with my Donner Electric Guitar, model DST-152! As a beginner guitar player, I couldn't have asked for a better instrument to kick-start my musical journey. The sleek and stylish design initially caught my eye, and upon playing it, I was blown away by its impressive sound quality. The rich, resonant tones it produces are a delight to the ears and have motivated me to practice for hours on end. The smooth fret board and comfortable neck make it easy for me to navigate through chords and scales, enhancing my learning experience. Whether I'm strumming along to my favorite songs or experimenting with new techniques, the DST-152's versatility has exceeded my expectations. It's truly a fantastic guitar that has quickly become an integral part of my musical expression. In addition to the guitar itself, I also invested in a collection of 13 Donner pedals to create a dynamic pedal board setup for my gigs. This combination has taken my performances to the next level, allowing me to explore an array of captivating sounds and effects. Each Donner pedal enhances the character of my playing, from the subtle nuances to the bold crescendos. I'm able to effortlessly switch between different tones, giving my performances a professional edge that leaves a lasting impression on the audience. With the Donner Electric Guitar and my diverse pedal board, I'm not only equipped for success as a beginner, but I'm also confidently stepping into the world of live music with a setup that's as unique and innovative as my musical aspirations. The only CON is the machine heads or tuner clicks when I am tuning my strings. The strings stay in tune but the machine heads appear to have an internal issue which I cannot fix. Suggested upgrades: *Upgraded Tuning Machines: Consider brands like Schaller, Hipshot, or Grover for high-quality locking tuners. *Pickup Upgrades: Brands like Seymour Duncan, DiMarzio, and EMG offer a wide range of pickups to suit different playing styles. *Custom Pickguard and Hardware: Brands like Pickguardian, WD Custom Pickguards, and Warmoth offer custom pickguard options. For hardware, options from Allparts, Gotoh, and Fender can be considered. *Nut Replacement: TUSQ and Graphtech are reputable brands for replacement nuts. *Effects Loop and Pedalboard Expansion: Brands like Boss, TC Electronic, Donner and Strymon provide high-quality effects pedals for an expanded pedalboard setup. Remember to research and choose the options that best match your preferences and playing style. These suggestions can help you further enhance your Donner Electric Guitar's performance and make it even more tailored to your needs. Some of these upgrades can be done yourself if you are confident in doing that otherwise seek out a professional guitar technician (luthier) for the setup. Or you can watch a bunch of YouTube videos. Otherwise for the money spent this is a great price point for a beginner guitarist. Thank you Donner!

Bang For Not A Whole Lotta Buck!!
I didn't quite know what I was looking for when I stumbled upon the Donner DMT-100. But something about the design of the guitar spoke to me, as did the Gradient Black finish...I have wanted a silverburst guitar for many years, and this particular Cyber Monday was gonna be the day I crossed off a bucket list item. Fast-forward a few days, and it's here, impeccably packaged and...also near-flawlessly set up in regards to string height and intonation, right out of the box?! To be honest, I was expecting to have to do serious work here, especially considering that my tuning of choice most of the time is...drop-A. Yes, I do own guitars of longer scale length and more strings, but sometimes, the feel of drop-A on a 25.5" scale ain't too bad either. After restringing this bad boy with some slightly beefier strings (the stock strings, while better than expected, were still most decidedly stock strings), I cranked those tuning keys to drop-A and got my thunder on...and lightnng...and gale-force winds...holy wow, those pickups are high-output!!!! But also very clear and articulate from string to string...huge points to Donner for not cutting corners for stock pickups, even though many people replace these in their axes later on. Build quality on this baby is PHENOMENAL for a guitar in this price range. This guitar feels so incredibly solid, like a baseball bat, but sleek, if that makes a lick of sense. The finish glows and sparkles in person, and the Hipnaught (fake Hipshot bridge) feels comfortable under the hand when strumming or palm-muting chords. The neck has a very slight V-shape to it, kind of like the old 50's Fenders, but slimmer...at least to my hand, it is incredibly comfortable to chord on, but if you are a devotee of Ibanez's Wizard necks, it may take a moment to get used to. All in all, if this kind of guitar is your thing, and you have an empty spot in your guitar rack or on your wall that you are dying to see this guitar filling...what are you waiting for?? This thing is ace!!!

Affordable guitar bundle that beats the big brands
I was looking for an inexpensive guitar to keep at my office and picked this up on the Prime day sale. It's comparable to a Squier Affinity series strat in terms of volume and tone. It's a decent starter guitar. The finish is great! The entry level practice amp is surprisingly loud and very portable. The speaker charges with a standard USB cord. It came with a very nice gig bag. The cord, capo, and tuner are very basic but a welcome addition to the pack. My only complaint is that the fret ends are a little sharp, but rounded them off and that did the trick. It stays in tune. Looks like it was set up with .09 strings on the high E. This is well worth the price and I would buy again. I love the coil split on the bridge humbucker! Be sure to change out the strings and oil the frets. Just get a setup at a local shop if you're a new player. It's worth it and you'll still be under the price of the Squier pack.

Great starter guitar
This is an amazing starter guitar! It came with everything we needed to get started with playing. I did a ton or research before choosing this guitar but still felt nervous about buying a guitar without being able to see it or play it first. When we got it, I asked my friend who is a guitar professor at our local university to check it out before I gave it as a gift. While he was familiar with the brand, he hadn't played a Donner guitar before. He said it was a great starter guitar and was very impressed. It holds a tune well and was playable right out of the box. Overall, I'm very pleased with the purchase.

Spectacular Value
This review is for the DST-152S HSS in Sunburst with Maple neck & fretboard. The guitar is a spectacular value for the money and looks sensational. There are very minor fret spurs on both sides of the neck which do not affect playablility but, aesthetically, will need a light file or fine sandpaper to resolve. The humbucker bridge pickup generates zero hum on normal setting and a slight hum when the bottom tone knob is pulled up, placing the pickup into single-coil mode. There is also zero hum with the pickup selector switch in the 2nd position, which I believe activates both single coil pickups together (at the neck and center positions). The little lithium-ion battery powered amplifier is very cool but I was disappointed that the volume, tone and gain controls do not work when the amp is in bluetooth mode - at least on the older (white) version I received. Maybe that's why there's a newer (black) version? The DST-152 has only been here for a week, so it will take a while yet for the muscles, callouses and flexibility to return in this old-timer's left hand and for his right hand to figure out which strings are where. But it's a whole lot nicer (and a whole lot more complicated) than the no-name knock-off I played 60 years ago. Thanks, Donner - well done!

Nice for the price.
After a little fretwork, a string change and a set up for string height and intonation, this guitar is great. Very narrow neck and it’s fun to play. It’s a good looker too. No fret sprouts.I have many guitars and thought I wouldcheck this out not intending to keep it necessarilybut it was so fun to play I’m keeping it. I’ve used it on a gig already.Nice to have the splitter on the humbucker

Beautiful Guitar, didn’t get an amp though.
UPDATE: I returned the old guitar and ordered a new one, same color and got it cheaper lol. I also got the amp this time! I received the newer model and it’s small but pretty good. I’m only a beginner so this works perfectly for me and I probably won’t be needing a new amp anytime soon as I don’t want to play too loud anyway. I just got my new one a day ago but it’s already working great. Easy to tune and set up + beginner friendly and love it so far. Even comes with a “common cord” card kind of thing which will come in handy when I practice. I hope I get a full refund for the previous guitar since it was missing an item though. (Update again: I got a full refund! Thanks Donner and Amazon! :D) Original Review: This is an absolutely beautiful electric guitar, and it’s my first guitar that i’m really excited to learn how to play! I got the ice blue kind of color and I love it! It does have a few dents and is a little dirty though? Whatever, I can get over that. My main problem is that I didn’t get the mini 5 watt amplifier that is supposed to come with it… So i can’t even play it. I contacted Donner about it just before writing this review but I will leave an update later after I get a response, though I might just return it and get a new one. Again, it’s lovely and overall pretty good for what I payed for, but I can’t really give it a good review until I get an amp.

My experience
I bought this guitar about a month ago, and it’s not that bad for its price. When it first delivered, there was a scratch on the base and the pickups were loose, so I did have to adjust the pick ups with a screwdriver just a tiny bit. The case for the guitar is actually somewhat sturdy, but the zipper is broke after two weeks of use. The tuner came broken, and when you try to tune it says numbers that are way off. Now, about the guitar, it really doesn’t sound as bad as people were saying. I would suggest changing the strings if you’re someone who finds sound and feel very important, but if not, I say you shouldn’t have to change the strings. The strings that comes with makes it very easy to bend, and their light gauge so they don’t hurt (unless your a beginner, your fingers would hurt anyway.) The action on the guitar came pretty low, I’d say it’s perfect height. The frets aren’t sharp. The tuning pegs feel pretty cheap, but surprisingly the guitar stays in tune well. Now for the stuff it came with, it’s not bad either. It came with a really small amplifier and it’s actually not bad. It definitely couldn’t be used for performance or anything, but it’s perfect for at home practice. And the overdrive actually sounds pretty good on it. No explanation needed for the other stuff. My overall recommendation: It’s perfect for beginners or people who want to start playing guitar. If you are a professional guitarist, I wouldn’t recommend it simply because it might not meet up to your standards, unless you simply just don’t care :))
