iPad Mini User’s Guide: Simple Tips and Tricks to Unleash the Power of your Tablet! Paperback – May 8, 2013

This book is for new  Apple iPad mini  users who need a fast introduction to the basics. It is sufficient for that purpose. Most of the information it contains is available from Apple's documentation for the iPad mini and iOS 7. "Bestselling Kindle eBook author Shelby Johnson," as he introduces himself in the introduction, refers readers to this documentation. He gives credit where it is due.The book is adequately written, but often light on the details. For example, when it describes the iOS 7 camera app, it merely mentions the editing tools without briefly explaining how each of them works. It would be better use of the readers time for the book to go into greater depth on this and other topics than to present aspects of the iPad interface most users are already familiar with.There are some things I did find helpful. Among them are the brief introductions to the new control center, instructions on using iTunes radio, and guidance for configuring and using the new AirDrop capability. I wanted to know more than I was told, but did learn enough to get started.This book is a fine choice if you want a quick introduction and for some reason want to avoid Apple's quick introduction. If you prefer something with more meat to it, I suggest  iPad mini For Dummies  or  My iPad mini .

Needed something to get started with on my new iPad Mini. Came with literally NO start up instructions and in fact telephone support was unable to help, telling me had to have my hardware reconfigured which would take an hour over the phone. Gal at Walmart had it going in 20 seconds as I had been unable to see a very obscure direction on the startup page.Still needed something to get me "started" and found this guide worth the $3 to give me the least complicated instruction to use net, browse and overall setup for daily tasks. Rest I'll have to fiddle with but do recommend this book for new users to iPad.

I ordered the book so I could actually hold it in my hands instead of having it delivered to my I-pad. I'm still going to have some extra help in getting from my I-pad what other friends do, I'm a slow learner. But the author does a good job in making it sound easy. And I'm glad I have the book for reference which I hve looked at several times.

This is the best iPad user manual around!I'm an older lady and I bought an iPad Mini last week. Unfortunately, nothing made sense to me. My friend suggested I get a user manual and I stumbled upon this book. It has helped me so much in navigating the iPad Mini and learning how to maximize its potential.I highly recommend this book to anyone who feels like technology is moving too fast and they just want to figure it out! This brief introductory guide to the iPad Mini explains its use in simple language with easy instructions. Learn how to add and delete applications as well as write messages and listen to music. Very basic guide good for beginners. No explanation of theory behind use, just clear instructions on making the most of your Mini. Recommended.

Has a lot of good tips, but short of more details. Thought "user guide" means step by step in guiding you on many how-to, rather than tips. Oh well, still a good book on many hidden features, especially when you buy an iPad Mini, without any written instructions.

I had hoped for some handy tips about how to use the IPad Mini, but this book was more about apps and accessories to get for it, without really telling you much about how to use any of them. It might be of some help to absolute newbies.

I have used to book more of a reference than a text. The beginning becomes complicated in a hurry, always referring to a later chapter. I had trouble following the information, But as a reference, it is very good.

This has become my iPad mini Bible and I continue to find out more and more thingsI can di with it. Sheer brilliance in a well structured informative book. Thoroughly recommend it

Very simple

Many of us find that online pages of text are no substitute to curling up in front of the fire with a book! This then is a simple little guide to bring you down your learning curve on another new piece of kit. Recommended.

It is noy quite what I expected and need something more specific as I am a very much so a beginner, and was expecting the dook to be more specific. Need a book that actually explains what to do.

Gifted an Ipad Mini and being an oldun didn't have a clue. Don't exactly get an instruction book with it. This User's guide is written in my language and I've understood everything so got more out of the Ipad Mini that I first expected. Sensible price as well.
