Loved the back to basics remedies. Liked the common sense recipes. Excellent reverence and go to in a pinch.

Good and informative so when I buy stuff I know it is more natural; however I thought I would give me was to make this stuff at home, and there is none of that.

If you're a beginner or an expert this book is for you. Honestly, you should be a forever student because the cosmetic world is forever changing. This book gives you everything plus so much more. I thought I knew some things but this book corrected me & guided me back on the right direction. Grab this book & enjoy all the knowledge inside!

it seems like you have to basically be a chemist to use this book.. every ingredient named in the book i have no idea what it is or how to pronounce it. If it were beginner friendly like the title says i would have an actual name instead of a chemical compound.. The author didn't even consider to provide both.. which actually seems in itself very misleading. Dont feel like figuring it out.. To make something from here I would have to Google the long chemical compound names of each ingredient and figure out how to get it to make one thing. It doesn't seem very natural at all, its just telling you how to make cosmetics. They also don't provide any information about how long these cosmetics last? The cover and description are extremely misleading and werent really what I was looking for. These aren't natural.. they are just cosmetics.

This book gives a good overall guide to DIY natural cosmetics. I would recommend for someone looking for information on starting their own side gig or cosmetic line. This is not a guide for making recipes from ingredients that you have around the house.

This book of recipes with percentages is not what I would call teaching people how to formulate natural cosmetics. In addition to very limited recipe variations of each kind of hair/skin care recipe, there is very little general explanation of things like emulsifiers and preservatives and zero guidance the very important aspect of how to choose the right emulsifiers and preservatives based on what other ingredients you are wanting to use. In fact, many of the aqueous recipes don't even include a preservative in this book, even though the author writes a little blurb about how important they are in the beginning of the book, but they give very little to no education on what ones are best for what formulations or the best places to source them. With all of that said, the information presented in this book is also disorganized in presentation. What value is making a simple statement about something extremely important and then providing essentially very little how-to's on it?? You don't want to mess around with the infections or illnesses you can get from bacteria growing in your product, and you probably shouldn't mess around with this book either. I had to learn all of these things, myself, for free, online, after being disappointed with the content of this book. If all you want are recipes, there are better ones for free online that actually include proper preservatives. Save your money on something that has more value and is based on truly helpful knowledge, science, and safety.

This book has answered a lot of the issues I was struggling with. This book is great for anyone that is interested in learning how to formulate skincare and haircare products. I now feel more confident in creating skincare products. This book is very easy to understand and well organized.

this book is filled with info and recipes to try if you're thinking about making your own skincare or hair care products....everything is laid out in an easy to understand format and the recipes seem interesting....i like that she gives the ingredient name and the INCI name as well....some of the ingredients I've never heard of before and wonder how easy they are to find but it's still a good book to get started with and I look forward to making some of the recipes that are included!
