Wow! Caught in 5 Minutes After Days with A Different Trap!
It's true! Amazing. I had purchased a different brand larger size to catch a mouse that found its way inside. I had it set and out for days with no luck. The little mouse was able to get inside and eat the goodies and get out all that time. I even weighted the platform because I saw how small and light the mouse was. Still no luck. I decided to try this one after watching some videos of it in action. And wow! I knew the small corner area where the mouse was hiding and I set it up near that area and within at most 5 minutes it caught the little bugger! It was a tiny lightweight field mouse and this trap caught it no problem. No fancy mechanism to open and close the door either. This one is simple and I was able to catch and release easily and effortlessly. I love this trap. Hope I don't need to use it again, but if I do, I know it will work great for small/tiny rodents.

Either our mouse is an Einstein, or it doesn't work -UPDATED review 12/7
I wanted this trap to work so badly; as an animal lover I do not kill anything. However, try as we might, we cannot catch the mouse that has taken up residence in our garage. After using several different baits in it we still see him scurrying into the shadows whenever we open the door. Not sure what we are doing wrong, or if maybe we just have an exceptionally smart mouse. This did not work for us so I will investigate other options.UPDATE- After a month I finally caught a mouse in this trap. Release was super easy. I have upgraded my rating and will continue using it and waiting patiently.

Easy to use and works
I purchased two of these and both were easy to use/set up. Within 20 minutes of setting the trap out, an adorable, but pesky mouse was caught! They repeatedly caught the mice and contained them until I could release them back to nature (not to mention, locate the how they were getting in and remedy it!).A mouse caught overnight (roughly 6 hours) left a rather gross mess. Even though the trap was in a well-ventilated area and the trap itself is also well-ventilated, I think the mouse was stressed out and breathing quite heavy, as it was filled with condensation and droppings.I could not find any information regarding the best method to clean, so that is part of why I didn't give this 5 stars. I even went to the company's website and asked how best to clean, but no one ever responded (still has not, to my knowledge) and it's not like you can just let that mess sit for days. Nothing included in or on the packaging indicated how best to clean. I can't believe that I am the first person to ever inquire about that and it seems like a fairly reasonable thing to expect for this type of product. The other reason for not giving 5 stars is because one of the traps stopped working. The door would no longer stay down in the "open" position. I don't know if this was some kind of defect or what happened because it had previously worked fine on multiple occasions. I did not see any type of chewing on the area that the door sits under, but it is possible that the mouse was very efficient in it's chew efforts and had chewed it equally across the board! The other trap was fine the entire time and worked until we were finally a mouse-free house, so it didn't feel right to take away multiple stars for something that really did work well overall!I gave it the 4 stars because despite the lack of cleaning information and one becoming defective, this worked very well! Logically, I know that mice reproduce at an alarming rate and that if I did kill them, the overall population was not going to dwindle or be in danger of going extinct. I just am the type of person who loves animals and feels extremely distraught at the thought of taking a life. This was the absolute perfect product to use. It was the most humane way to deal with a nuisance. The mice were all alive and well, though understandably, stressed out.

Amazing how well it worked
Recently moved into new apartment and started to see a quick brown blurry thing scatter between the kitchen and the stove whenever I turned on the lights to the kitchen late at night. Oh no, I must have a mouse in my apartment! I previously had a bad experience with a mouse stuck in a glue trap at my previous house, so I wanted to go with a humane trap that would capture the mouse. Find this recommended on Amazon, real cheap. Okay, yeah send it. I look up online what food works best to capture mice and I saw they like food with high protein. Okay boom, I place a generous glob of chunky peanut butter on the trap and set the trap in the kitchen. The next night I am lying in bed about to fall asleep and I head the trap go off in the kitchen! I laugh, get out of bed, and go to check on my captive. Well. It wasn't a mouse, no the ears and the tail were too small and the snout was too long and the eyes were too small. I thought it was a baby groundhog, but I looked online to double check and what this trap caught in almost 24 hours of being set was a BABY MOLE. I didn't even know New Jersey had moles!!! I walk across the street from my apartment and release the mole into a bush to live out the rest of it's mole days and hopefully not be eaten. Just for gigs I reset the trap and go to bed.The next morning I wake up, go to work, come back about 10 hours later, and the trap went off again. There was ANOTHER BABY MOLE in the trap!!! We are talking like 16 hours here. Was it the same mole? Idk, but I made sure to release this bugger even further away. This trap is clearly magical so obviously I reset the trap again, and then 2 nights later the trap captures A THIRD MOLE. It's either there's a mole infestation going on or I am dealing with the wiliest baby mole to ever exist. I must reset the trap now, come on.A week goes by and the trap hasn't gone off. It's either I caught the last of the moles or the singular, repeat-offender mole must've made a wrong turn at Albuquerque. I am lying in bed and I hear the trap go off again! Monsieur Mole has returned! I meet my rival in the kitchen to find what is not a mole, but an actual mouse! Fourth times the charm! Little guy was so cute (and pictured above) that I let him feast on the chunky peanut butter before placing him outside.I just really wanted to tell that story, but yeah. This trap worked fantastic for me and such a value at that price. Also use chunky peanut butter as bait!

humane as can be and works
We got this trap as we had a mouse in the house our dog and cat were obsessed with. We tried every homemade humane trap to no avail. Set this trap with a tiny piece of cheese, within 6 hours had the little mouse. We released the mouse on a ditch bank and reset the trap just in case there are more. By far the best and most humane next to just letting the mouse be.
