Excellent running headphones
These are now my 3rd pair of Shokz headphones having now upgraded to these from the Openrun (non pro) version. They have in my opinion a better, more open sound than the previous with slightly enhanced bass response and cleaner sounding treble. For me worth the upgrade although some people may decide the previous generation are good enough to not warrant upgrading. I use these primarily for running as they are a must have to be able to confidently run on roads or in busy areas allowing me to hear my surroundings as well as my own breathing! I do sometimes wear them around the house so I can hear when I am being spoken to. At present bone conduction headphones will never “out do” in ear type for sound quality and bass response and if you are considering these Open Run Pro headphones for this reason I’m afraid you are missing the point, they cannot compete in this category alone. If quality is all you are after then I would suggest Sony, Bose, Apple etc. But if you will be using these for any form of exercise or cannot have things in your ears then I believe you will like these a lot. When I use them for running they never move at all and have been used in the rain with no problems. Battery life is very good as is the quality of the headphones themselves. All in a great open headphone which for me will continue to be my go to running headphones and I’m sure I will upgrade when the next version comes out.

Amazing How The Technology Has Improved
I previously purchased the Aeropex in April 2021, unfortunately in May 2023 they died (wouldn't turn on, wouldn't charge, troubleshooting did nothing = it's dead Jim) a month outside the 2 year warranty *cries*. As I have used the Aeropex almost daily since purchase I wasn't too upset, but I did need to get a replacement ASAP. I settled on the Shokz OpenRun Pro because they seemed to be very similar to the previous generation Aeropex, on first use I was blown away by how much the bone conduction technology has advanced in the last 2 years. The Aeropex were pretty decent but featured little to no bass, the OpenRun Pro however does have a nice amount of bass - amazing for bone conduction. The volume range is great, as it was with the Aeropex, I can listen at just below half volume and hear both my music and my surroundings to ensure I'm not splattered by a car, perfect! I highly recommend these, if you've used previous generations you will be blown away by this generation of bone conduction tech; and I can't wait to see how the technology advances further in the coming years. If you've not used bone conduction products previously it can take a little getting used to, but it is IMO the safest way to enjoy music while out walking/running and still being completely aware of your surroundings.

A worthy upgrade from older models, but not from OpenRun
I have upgraded from the earlier Trekz model bought in 2020, and the difference is evident. The new pair is much more comfortable to wear, more responsive to controls, is lighter and less bulky and the sound quality is also noticeably better. There, however, some downsides as well: 1. Proprietary charging cable supplied without a spare (unlike with cheaper OpenRun). Come on, there can be no excuses for that. 2. Dual pairing (e.g. with your phone and computer) is not completely straightforward: if one source is playing, and another starts playing as well, the latter would not be heard. If, however, you stop sound on the first device and unpause the second, it'll switch. This can be a limitation of the protocol, but is not explained clearly enough in the booklet or in the app. 3. The price jump is very noticeable. More than twice as expensive than I paid for Trekz 2 years ago. The app (which is apparently Open Run Pro exclusive) is mostly a gimmick, but has a option of firmware upgrade, and it can be very useful - IF any significant updates would indeed materialise in the future (not a given). Overall, it is a worthy upgrade from an old model or a first buy, but if you already happen to have another cheaper model from the same generation (e.g. OpenRun) I wouldn't bother. The difference between the two is not worth the extra £40.

Great headphones for voice and audible
I don't often leave reviews but I'm so happy with this product I'd like to recommend it These headphones are very comfortable to wear - the most comfortable headphones I have ever owned. I forget I'm wearing them even if I leave them on all day. They leave the ear entirely open, which is perfect for sports situations or environments where you would like to be able to maintain a conversation. I no longer get into trouble with my other half for wandering around with my noise suppression WH-1000XM4 on, since these I arrived I haven't used them. The audio quality is better than I expected and especially good for voice or audible recordings. The reduced low bass response makes them less good for music, but I was expecting that. In use as a headset it seems my voice is clear on calls, and the controls are limited but very tactile and easy to use. Multipoint pairing works well. A breakthrough product in my view, changed life for the better.

Best Bone Conducting Headphones
Great for listening to audio books, music and for making phone calls. The improved bass response really does make the Open Run Pro worth listening to music on, something I couldn't do with my last pair of bone conducting headphones. Phone calls seem to be fine I can certainly hear the conversation ok and appear to be heard ok too. They connect easily with my iPhone and I haven't had any problems with connectivity. The Std mode sounds good for audiobooks which is what I listen to most. They might be a bit pricy but they're very good.

To start with , this is an open ear partial bone conduction and partial air conducting headphones without any component obstructing the ear canal . this is the USP of the headphone and it cannot defy physics and give u an audiophile grade sound stage and clarity. The headphone does what it says it will and very well at that. i am a surgeon and i need a headphone on me to take calls when i am operating a case , but i cannot afford to not hear what others are talking in the operating theatre. i have tried over ear headphones with ambient mode and many other solutions, but nothing worked properly for me / were too bulky and distracting in the moment. so i went for this on recommendation of a surgeon friend of mine and it has been perfect for what i needed. i also use this to cycle and to listen to ambient music when i sleep, especially in hospital during breaks. i use this to listen to podcasts when doing household chores, and i use it when driving my older car which doesnt have hands free connectivity. And this has exceeded my expectations for what such a device has to do. Pros open ear sound clarity is good bone conduction works like a charm battery life the button placement is good and lets me pick up calls by pressing it on my shoulder when i am scrubbed in and also when my hands are dirty with household work. cons proprietary charger - but it is due to water proofing - third party chargers are available easily though and work well at louder volume levels - past midpoint - people around u can hear the sounds as it is not purely bone conduction. wife gets annoyed as she doesn't get an idea of if i am consuming media or simply wearing them :) App unavailable - had to download APK and install dual connectivity between tab and phone is buggy and unrefined - been 6 months and nothing has improved it, manually switching the connection every time i need to use it. overall i am not sure if it's value for money - but i got it during a sale - so i felt it exceeded my expectations for the price point. If it wasn't clear - this is not pure bone conduction - so u will still hear it playing if u leave it on a desk nearby in a quiet room.

I ordered these headphones as a replacement for an cheap set I bought from a Facebook advertiser. These are true bone induction headphones. There is not sound that can be heard more than a few centimetres away, so they are perfect for wearing in quiet environments such as public transportation or libraries. The battery lasts a good long time, I work 10 hour shifts and have not had the battery run out. It is very fast to link to your Bluetooth device. The headset includes volume up and down buttons to control your device without digging it out of your pocket. Being a bone induction headset, your ears are open to hear what is going on around you, a safety feature you will appreciate out in public or in a working environment. This is one of the more expensive bone induction headsets on the market, but you are getting a solid build quality, excellent sound and long battery life. After using these daily for over a month, I have found no negative points to mention in my review.

Overall, it's a quality headset. However, there are two significant drawbacks. Firstly, only two devices can be paired simultaneously, which feels limited given its price point. Secondly, the waterproof rating is ambiguous. It's unclear whether it can withstand heavy rain, which, at this price, is a notable limitation.
