How long will it last? 5-10-15k?

Firstly, the answers from Rust Never Sleeps and Linux_user are a tad misleading. If someone is telling you to change your oil every 2500 to 5000 miles, they are stuck in the Oil Industries marketing from the 80's. High quality conventional oil is good for 8000, high quality full synthetics, use the manufacture's recommendations, usually 15K to 25K. This filter IS good for 15K with high quality synth. From Rust Never Sleeps: ""Thicker" oils don't get to the bearings quickly, and it does not COOL the engine as well as the lighter-viscosity oils. "Thicker" oils reduce gas mileage, too -- never a good idea !!" " 0W30, 5W30, 10W30 all have the same viscosity at 100 degrees Celsius so makes no difference on a motor running at operational temperatures. The 0, 5, 10 numbers are a pouring value, or how an oil flows at cold temps and has nothing to do with viscosity. The lower number oils, 0 and 5, user a thinner base stock and then have long chain polymers that bulk up as heat increases, increasing the oil viscosity. 10W30 would use a thicker base stock and less of the polymers. If you live in an area where temps drop below 0 degrees Fahrenheit / -18 Celsius, then us a 5W oil. If you car never sees low temps like that, stick with 10W. If you live in an area where temps exceed 100F on a regular basis, never use a 5W unless it's a top quality pure synthetic. Keep in mind, motor oil DOES NOT wear out. It gets dirty (always use quality filters) and it looses it's additive packages, the stuff that cleans and protects your motor. Extended Mileage motor oils have more refined and contain better additive packages than lower mileage oils. If you REALLY what to know what's going-on in your motor, order a motor oil analyzer kit and send it in for testing. This tells you a lot about how you oil and you motor is performing. Also very important, NEVER use a full synthetic in a high motor (75K-100K+) that has never run a synthetic. Remember those refined additive packages, they will do an amazing job of removing sludge and scum from seals and gaskets and you motor will bleed-out. There are a few High Mileage synthetics but myself, I stick with Castrol GTX High Mileage synth blend in my 87 Toyota 22RE with 200K+ miles and it burns zero oil.

Can I use this with the Amazon brand 10w-30?

The BOSCH Premium Oil Filter can be used with ALL brands of 10-W-30 motor oil, either conventional, synthetic blends, or full synthetic. Change this filter every 5,000 miles -- regardless of the type of oil used.

What filter end cap wrench fits this filter? It is an odd size. I tested every end cap wrench at the auto store and none worked.

Do not use a cap wrench if none fits. There are so many types which are very useful. I am using ""three-finger" type of adjustable filter wrench. Very effective. And the best advise I can give is when you replace your filter, use just enough manual strength to tighten it so when you change your engine oil/filter it will need only hand strength to remove.
