Broken Scabs

Wow, wow! This was amazing, I think it's so different to many poetry offerings, it stands out. Almost abstract and surreal yet relatable at the same time. The Artwork is so simple in nature but compliments the poetry perfectly.This is by far one of the best poets I have stumbled upon. Make this your next good read!!!

L.Q.Murphy is a an amazing, creative writer and a metaphorical genius. This book is engaging in many ways and on many levels.I enjoyed the content and passionate considerations in the highs and lows in relationships across the lifespan. As an "author" of poetry myself, poetry is definitely an acquired taste. Though this book isn't my particular style, I enjoyed the elements and themes of it. Part 2 was nostalgic because it reminded me of scabs that have formed from my past - even became teary eyed at some of the poems.I love nature and Part 3 reminded me how much I was out of touch with God's beautiful creations. It showed me how the beauty He created can also be sour like the green Granny Smith apples. I like how the author used life's experiences and related them to nature. Shout out to the illustrator of this book as well because the simplistic sketches were so powerful and tied all of the poems together beautifully.This poetry book will not be for everybody, but it's worth a read if you've ever been gravely disappointed/hurt by people. Especially if you're still walking around with the residue of that pain.

Just like the first book I ordered from L. Q. Murphy, Broken Scabs is beautifully written.This book really makes you sit and work out the poms to find the deeper meaning.I've gifted this book to a good friend, and she loved it as well!
