Picky shopper has been won over...I'm addicted to vacuuming now
I'm a picky shopper, and not easily impressed. I was skeptical about this vacuum, but I was pleasantly surprised. It's much quieter than my old Eureka, holds a ton of dirt, and is easy to maneuver. I read every review and ended up going with the refurb to save money. I've had zero problems. Here's what surprised me: strong suction, with the ability to adjust the suction so you don't suck up a throw rug by accident. Giant canister holds at least twice the dirt of other machines, so you empty less. Two low-down clips must be flipped to remove the big dirt canister. The canister opens from both top and bottom. The head is small, so it's easy to roll around furniture. The machine can also work completely flat, under beds. The head has power rollers to pound the carpet to release more dirt. It does make the vacuum require a tad more effort to push, but the strong suction makes it worth the effort. You can turn the rollers off for floors easily with a top switch. The handle is nice and high for easier maneuvering. The cord is nice and long, but not retractable, so you have to wind and wind and wind to wrap the cord back up (why haven't they solved this problem yet?). There is no onboard storage for the accessories, the brush head accessory has teeny, tiny short bristles, so it doesn't do much. The mini roller is awesome for pet hair. The crevice tool is short but works OK. If you remove the canister from the base (takes a couple of steps), you can use the attachments, but I mostly keep the entire thing attached. The power cord is attached mid-way up, so sometimes the machine tips over easily. I just wrap the cord near the top to solve that problem. There is no extension rod, so when I expand the hose to reach further, the machine tips over. There is no headlight, which doesn't matter to me. The machine doesn't clean to the edge well. The head hugs the ground, so it doesn't reach nearby dust that's just outside its margins. That also means it doesn't suck up the curtains or any other random items. The foam filter is super easy to clean and dries quickly...not like my old machine that took days to dry multiple filters. This machine doesn't scare my dog the way my old vacuum did. It's at least half as noisy, and not grating. The machine came in a giant box with only two pieces to snap together. Very easy to figure out. Well made, doesn't feel cheap. I'm extremely happy with this purchase, and I've had the vacuum for a month or so with no loss of suction. I'm uploading pictures that I wish I could have seen prior to purchase. Proper picture rotation won't adjust properly for some reason. Hope this info helps!

Does an awesome job, easy maintenance, bagless, washable filters, vacuum.
I love shark vacuums. They survive the heavy use in our house. We live in the country, we have dogs and kids and a lot of dirt and hair. I didn’t want to pay full price for a new vacuum so we purchased a refurbished one. You couldn’t even tell it wasn’t new. We had the lightweight navigator for about 6 years. I can’t believe it lasted that long. It was very basic. We finally killed it and it was time for a new one. I wanted something with a few more bells and whistles than the old one, but not so many that it would be overkill. I over research everything and read a ton of reviews before purchasing anything. I love the swivel head and the lift away canister after having one without those features for so long. This one had a slightly longer cord since it’s the professional one. Definitely an added bonus. I would say the only thing I don’t like about the vacuum is that it doesn’t have a spot for the attachments to stay on the vacuum. That can be a bit frustrating when moving around or trying to keep track of them. However, that one small point wouldn’t stop me from ordering it or another again. I had a Lindhaus vacuum for a few years. They are great vacuums, but the expense of a purchase, dealing with bags, and the fact that it just wasn’t as tough as the shark, made me go with a different brand. We are tough on these. We use it to vacuum out the wood stove remaining ash after it’s been shoveled out. I vacuum out the trucks, the house carpet and rugs, curtains, dirt. Pretty much anything that you can vaccum, we use it for. If you want a workhorse that will last, buy a shark. The biggest thing for getting a long life out of these is proper maintenance. I dump the dirt canister almost everytime I use it. Also, I shake out the filters in between cleanings with water. The suction of these vacuums is amazing with proper airflow. If it seems like there isn’t enough power/suction/airflow, clean your filters and canister first. If that doesn’t do it, check the hose for blockages. As long as you take care of the vacuum, it will do a great job for you. We have turned all of our extended family and friends onto these vacuums. I would not own another brand!
