Q: I own the 5 gal, 2 pot to distill water. I keep getting a metallic taste and smell in my water. Any ideas? I've cleaned w/vinegar and several runs now

The metal is not the issue. It is fumes in your garage, or disgusting city water (Call and tell them you want a copy of their analysis. Most cities are required to provide it free to it's citizens.) You will be very surprised about the amount of metals and other impurities. Very few cities meed their mandate established by the state. The metals in city water will stay in the still bottom, and that can be the 'flavor' you do not like, especially if the pot isn't cleaned well each batch. Might be something with the ingredients. Insecticides are WIDELY used in grain silos and storage warehouses and cause bodacious nasty flavors. There are bugs and rats and mice in those places that are brought in from the fields and the problem needs to be dealt with. If you can run your water through a good filter to remove impurities is always good. VOCs can be in the water. Let the water sit for a few days and the VOCs will lift off, or heat the water and let the VOCs evaporate quickly before using it. Basically everything above deals with unwanted chemicals, and dirty water. Third is the ingredients. Smell, chew, and taste to see if you can determine what it is. Change the supplier.

I haven't been able to find one, but I'm sure they are available somewhere

If you’re just gonna distill water then it comes ready to run if you want to make shine you’ll need to do some engineering on it

Q: What kind of hoses connect the pot to the thumper? I wanna know where I can buy more of those.
